A standard fast paced Koontz

This is the first time I have listened to a Dean Koontz book, rather than read it. Mr Koontz has a way of keeping you riveted from start to finish, and normally at an almost real time plot. This was slightly different as the book is set over a period of years, but the bulk of the story is still in a few days nearer the end of the book. This at the normal breakneck pace. No dog in this book, un Koontz like.

This is a different Dean
I like it. Darker -lightly sprinkled with humor. No dogs.

great read....audible book

Where does Lightning rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Lighting ranks at the top of the list plus one

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lightning?

the begining

What does Christopher Lane bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

the drama and the emotion of the characters

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

aboard the roller coster and hold on

Any additional comments?

with a "good" book you get to chapter 2 or 3 (if your lucky) or to the middle before things happen. With "Lighting" the action starts right away and ends at the last sentence.

Worth it!

This was my first Dean Koontz book. Amazing story, plot, characters. He throws you on a roller coaster ride of emotion and suspense, and manages an ending you can be satisfied with. He's a great story-teller with a limitless imagination. The narrator was great as well. I would totally recommend it!

Dean Koontz does it again!

If you could sum up Lightning in three words, what would they be?

exciting, energetic, family

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it was a great story line and very interestingly told.

Have you listened to any of Christopher Lane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Not that I recall.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Possibly but time restraints did not allow me to do so. I generally listen to my books during flight time.

Any additional comments?

Always looking for the next Koontz book on Audible.

awesome romp through known places

I found a copy of this paperback on a bus stop 15 years ago or more and devoured it in a weekend. I saw it on audible and realized I had forgotten much of the core story and so I listened to it and have really enjoyed it. The story goes from a mystery suspense to an awesome espionage and escape story so smoothly that the love stories, romantic and just powerful friendships, are almost palpable and our main character is a lady ofher time in all the finest ways.

The reading is... stiff? I think I just hear the characters in my head differently and so I struggled with the reading of all of the children and of Stefan. the reader does an excellent job of voice acting dozens of distinct characters and so I would still recommend the experience.

What a really fun trip through places familiar and imagined and into the life of one really incredible leading lady.

Was just okay nothing special here

The story was pretty good however typical of many time travel type novels ( no new ground covered here!). It would be especially good for someone who hasn't red much time traveling stuff since many things were explained on why the character didn't do something in a certain way. It was a bit predictable at times... No real surprises but the storyline flowed well enough and the characters were interesting enough to keep listening. I thought the ending was a little too pat. Honestly it reminded me a little bit of the way Heinlein wrote.
