Publisher's summary

It’s vampire politics as usual around the town of Bon Temps, but never before have they hit so close to Sookie’s heart….

Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one.

There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town. It’s the worst possible time for a human body to show up in Eric's front yard—especially the body of the woman whose blood he just drank.

Now, it's up to Sookie and Bill, the official Area Five investigator, to solve the murder. Sookie thinks that, at least this time, the dead girl's fate has nothing to do with her. But she is wrong. She has an enemy, one far more devious than she would ever suspect, who's set out to make Sookie's world come crashing down.

CHARLAINE HARRIS DOES IT AGAIN! 5 STARS!

This is the next to last in a long, beloved series that will end with only one more book. I have loved every minute of this wild ride and this book is one of the best in the whole series. CH ties up a lot of loose ends, completes quite a bit of the story lines we have wondered about and leaves us breathless with an ending NOBODY EXPECTED! Sookie Stackhouse, the telepathic waitress who is our heroine, has been thru hell and back her whole life and this book is no different with her story. She will come out of this alive....we hope. I have loved her for so many years I feel as if she's part of the family so I am very sad that it's coming to a conclusion but the show on HBO will continue her for a while yet. I highly recommend this complete series to anyone who loves a true to life heroine with a large and frequent dollop of the supernatural thrown in. The believable kind of supernatural! This story could happen to you! or me, if I were so lucky!

It was good, but kinda boring at times.

With it being near the end of the series, this is to be expected. I liked it simply because it was part of the Sookie saga, but it was boring at times. Johanna Parker was amazing, as usual.

A pretty good ending for a great series

I can't say I'm completely disappointed, but for anyone who's put so much time into this series, I was disappointed at the ending. We'll never know truly how Sookies life goes on. I was literally shocked when "the end" was announced. I thought for sure there would be one last chapter. But the rest of the book had been absolutely fantastic. I'm assuming Ms. Harris had wanted us to make up our own ending on what happens to the characters, but honestly, I felt cheated. But if you enjoy open endings, you'll love this book.

WHY DID YOU DO IT??? WHY NO HINT AT THE END??

If you could sum up Deadlocked in three words, what would they be?

SO VERY GOOD!

What other book might you compare Deadlocked to and why?

just the others in the series, I have not read many vampire books so I dont have much to compare them with.

Which character – as performed by Johanna Parker – was your favorite?

well... Eric of course! What is not to like about a huge strong blonde Viking, vampire???? I love his accent and the deep voice she uses, I can't fail to mention Sookie also, I grew up in Shreveport so I love the correct accent she uses, some might think that it is a cajun accent, but WAY up north LA it is just a good southern accent and she knew that and used it. I am always amazed at how well she does every voice, I can always tell who is speaking based on the voice and the accent, She really has an amazing tallent in this area!

Who was the most memorable character of Deadlocked and why?

of EVERY book it is Eric, I want one!!

Any additional comments?

WHY did you leave the end the way you did? It is not fair that I should have to wait years maybe to find out what happened. Do you want me to die early due to lack of sleep? You could have given a hint!!!

Another Good Sookie Stackhouse Story!!

Where does Deadlocked rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

All the Sookie Stackhouse novels are one of my favorite series & this book is very good. You will need to read the books in order to really get the most out of this book.

What other book might you compare Deadlocked to and why?

The series is comparable to Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompsan series & to Kim Harrison's Hallow Witch series, although Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stakhouse is by far my favorite. All have a strong female lead, a magic theme, & good narration.

Which character ??? as performed by Johanna Parker ??? was your favorite?

Sookie - of course!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No

Any additional comments?

Charlaine harris' other series are also good listens I'd recommend
