Interesting, just not into dramatizations

It took me a while to warm up to audio books. I enjoyed printed reads because I could build worlds with the authors' stories based on what I envisioned. Then I figured out that I can multitask and still enjoy a good story having someone read it to me...I while the narrator does color what my mind conjures, it is still mostly mine....

...that said, the dramatized version really doesn't allow me to do that. It really is a movie for my mind because everything is sort of dictated on how the person directing (?) the performance sees it.

I generally do not select the dramatized version, but this wasn't available as a regular audio book.

That said, it was an ok story and had some twists and turns.

if you are into the drama of having a movie play in your mind by way of an audio book. then this is definitely not for you.

I didn't like the lengthy interview at the end at all. The good thing: I didn't have to listen to it. Had it been more about the Cemetary Girl, I would have.

I enjoyed it.

This was my first dramatic adaptation, since it was the only option. It was a fun listen. Moving onto the next one.

Sorry, just not my cup of tea

I absolutely love Charlene Harris, but this format and story really falls short. I have many of her series like Shakespeare, her vampire series, and I absolutely love her series with a gal who can tell how people died, as well as a few of her other books. I respect of other people enjoy this format And book. Thank you for putting it into the pluss category so I could sample it.

This was a fun listen. just wish it was a little longer, but perfect quick story for errand and laundry time 👍

Fun kids mystery

The graphic audio format helped bring life to this short story, but it also gave a little noise confusion which, combined with the shortness, time jumps, and out of body memory flashes, sometimes made things hard to follow. By the end, however, I understood things. This was appropriate down to tweens. There is an extended interview with the author at the end of the novella, but with a total run time of 2hrs, you should already be prepared for a short story. The story itself had a standalone mystery, even if the mystery of Calexa’s origin was left for another day.

Too Short

Loved the production, imagery, and performances. Don't usually go for YA titles but enjoyed this.

Surprisingly good

I wasn’t sure what to expect especially with this being so short, but it was fantastic. The graphic audio is also spot on and delivers a very atmospheric backdrop that makes feel right there in the Cemetery.

Not for me

I love Charlaine Harris books I didn't like this (dramatized) audio. I would rather read it in print or listen to a single narrator.

half of this is not story

About an hour of this graphic novel is an interview with the author. The recording is already very short, and this comes across as intentionally misleading. you only get about an hour of actual storytelling.
