Publisher's Summary

No one knows why the district attorney is gunning for Susan Wilson, but Clint Wolf is determined to find out, even if it’ll get him in trouble.

While he works to clear Susan’s name, his crusade is sidelined when a bar manager is murdered during an apparent armed robbery. The method of operation is eerily similar to those used by the ruthless gang who killed his family, and Clint might soon have to face down the demons from his past to solve the mystery.

Will Clint walk that fine line between good and evil, or will he abandon his principles to settle an old score? Whatever choice he makes, one thing is certain, it’ll come at a hefty price.

Didn't expect these twists

This story has to be the best of the 3 books. It was a little heartbreaking and I experienced a plethora of emotions from shock, disbelief, to total wow! Do you like murder and mystery? Do you like love triangles without the romance stuff getting in the way? There is a shootout at the police station resulting in a lot of deaths. Susan finally gets cleared. Simon and his gang caused a lot of additional turmoil and more deaths occurred other than from the hands of Simon and his brothers. This story kinda had 2 storylines going, making the book any greater. As always I enjoyed this author and narrators work. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Fast-paced multiple murder mystery...

Fast-paced and well-narrated mystery. This one was interesting and had a lot of mystery to it. One of the things about this book that some will like and some won't, is that it has several mysteries that are basically consecutive, not concurrent, so it really could be two to three books instead of one. It could make the storyline a bit hard to follow at times, but not terribly so. Lots of different characters and plenty of intrigue. As always, Bennett's narration was excellent - he always does a wonderful job of voicing characters with just enough difference to keep the reader engaged without being overwhelming. ***This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.***

Excellent story

This was my first story by BJ Bourg and I was pleased. There was much suspense, action, and much of the small-town mishaps that can happen among a small police force. A bit of a love story on top of all the action and adventure. I loved how the loss of his wife and daughter kept Clint going. The scene where he's visiting their graves brought tears to my eyes. This book kept me glued to the end,. I'd love to read more of the Clint Wolf stories. Thank you J. Scott Bennett for offering me a free review copy.

Excellent story

I really enjoyed this story, it's the best in the series so far. It has some shocking surprises, heartbreak, loss, great action and heart pounding suspense. The twists and revaluation will keep you glued to the story and your heart will both break for Clint Wolfe but also rejoice for him too. The narration fit the bill perfectly, bringing the characters to life and keeping you engrossed in the story. This is a really entertaining story with characters you can not help but like and feel for.

Please say there's another Book in this series!

But Not Forsaken (Clint Wolf Mystery #3)
Written by B.J. Bourg Narrated by: J. Scott Bennett

But Not Forsaken is another great mystery by Bourg; it’s well written and capturing from the start, which is why I love this series so much. Also, I just love Clint Wolfe! This book has a bit more action and suspense than the last two, which made it even better. It’s filled with many twists and shocking discoveries.

But Not Forsaken is an excellent stand alone book, but I feel knowing the history and Clint’s past experiences made me love it even more. However, I did notice this book didn’t lead into the next book, like the last two, so I’m not sure if there will be another. I really hope there is, because I’m not ready to let Clint Wolfe go yet. I want to add that I love the narrator, or should I say his voice, as much as the stories, if not more.

I rate this with 5 Boundless stars and I highly recommend this to all mystery lovers!

Book 3 is just as good as Books 1 & 2!!

I love Clint Wolf's story! BJ Bourg does such a fantastic job with this series of reminding the reader of what happened in the previous books that they really do stand on their own. However, why would you NOT want to get as much of Clint Wolf as you can?? This entire series has mystery, thrill, gunfight and love as one can ask for. I don't know if there will be a book 4 or not, but, if so, I'll be reading it!
I listened to the audiobook version and J. Scott Bennett is the narrator. I just love his work! He has the perfect drawl for Clint Wolf, but he also does a fantastic job of the other characters in the book. It is easy to know who is speaking from one part to the next. He does a great 'mean guy' voice, as well!
I highly recommend this book, as well as the first 2 in the series, and I recommend ALL of Scott Bennett's work!

Another winner for Clint!!

Sigh...this series is one where you can hardly wait for the next book!! No secret that I love Clint Wolf...our love able, slightly flawed & cracked, police chief in small town, LA. Clint has been notified that the men who murdered his family, have been released and are probably heading to his town to kill him. The men arrive into town with a bang...injuring a police officer and threatening everyone who is close to the chief. Meanwhile, Detective Susan Wilson has been indicted by a grand jury for 2nd degree murder and Clint is trying to determine the motive behind the trumped up charges. Got that so far? This book is so chocked full of action that, if you’re not paying attention, you’ll have to rewind! The Parker bros...aka murderers...are not afraid of the small town police force...as a matter of fact, they stage an all-out assault on the building. After recovering from that assault, Clint is faced with the death of yet another who is close to him. Needless to say, Clint is super busy...and at the end makes a life altering decision. Always enjoy how each book wraps up but also gives a teensy glimpse into the next book...evil genius...lol. Great narration!

Wow!

Any additional comments?

I couldn't stop listening! No work was completed while I was enjoying the book. This book contains a lot of action, a definite winner. It is the third book in the Clint Wolfe Mystery Series, a must listen series. So much happened in the story that I don't know where to begin to summarize, However I'll just say there was a surprise ending and a satisfying wrap up to the continuing story.

Thrilling and complex

This book was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

This book had multiple plots going on at the same time. It also developed multiple character relationships.

This is the best of the three books currently in audio. It is full of mysterious scenarios and keeps you guessing throughout.

Outstanding narration and plot thread.
