Story inside a story

Really enjoyed this book. You are taken along a really good mystery then with the same main characters it blends into a connecting plot. The way it was written I was able to keep it all straight without any confusion

Great New Start!

Dalton Savage was a favorite character from the Rachel Hatch series, so grabbing this audiobook was a no-brainer. Savage is purely himself in this fast-paced, rocket-fueled thriller. He and his deputies have a mess of a case on their hands, with things spiraling out of control at every turn. But his dogged determination and desire for justice won't let him walk away from the rising flood of trouble, and he's not inclined to ask for help.

Readers can enjoy this new series whether they've met Dalton in the previous stories or not. This one stands alone, although there is a certain amount of character sharing since this is Hatch's hometown. I only have one small regret about this series. I was hoping that Hatch would come back and resume her relationship with Dalton Savage at some point. They were an interesting couple. But that's looking less likely after having read this story. I'll just have to see how things develop.

Fans of crime novels, police procedurals, thrillers, and testosterone-driven plotlines will enjoy this story!

Keeps ur ears glued to headphones

This is a great book and well read! If u ve listen to Rachel Hatch u ll love it! If u haven’t u ll love it! Especially those of us who love the outdoors. Colorado mtns, hiking, and a criminal on the loose! Writer makes u feel like u are there. This is one of best books I ve listened too in awhile. Full story and well developed. If u do read Hatch tho u ll love it a little extra and u ll already know Savage but not a requirement to enjoy. U ll be just getting to know Dalton Savage. Can’t wait for next book.

Weak story with poor narration

the narrator mispronounces numerous words throughout the story. He puts the wrong inflection on others, adds breaks and pauses that shouldn't be there. It's just a very poor performance. The story had very little point. there was no mystery, no real plot. It seemed like the first 3/4 of the book were completely pointless to the weak story that made up the remainder. There was just no real purpose to it. I expect the second book will spend three chapters on him brushing his teeth.

Very Disappointing

I’ve enjoyed the Rachel Hatch series, so I thought I would try this one as well. I’m very disappointed. This is just another lame tale about inept law enforcement officers. No thanks

Rachel was much better

The Rachel Hatch series is much better. If you haven’t listened to any of them yet, go there first. All are very entertaining.

Nah

Just about everything the police do is stupid and usually illegal. Two officers chase a serial killer in a forest but can’t get help from any local, state, or federal agency. Even the national guard was on holiday.
