Publisher's Summary

Blood of Others received one of the world's top literary prizes for crime fiction, the 2003 Arthur Ellis Award, given by the Crime Writers of Canada for Best Novel. In his praise of the book, James Patterson, the number-one worldwide best-selling author, said Blood of Others was "tense, realistic, and scary in all the right places".

The disappearance and murder of a lonely San Francisco insurance clerk puts a relentless crime reporter and a legendary homicide cop on separate tracks in their pursuit of a killer. The suspect lures solitary women out of their quiet worlds and into his nightmare as he races the clock and travels the globe searching for the one woman who will forgive the unforgivable. In the course of a widening investigation, Olivia Grant, a shy gift store sales manager who aches to escape her painful solitude, meets Ben Wyatt, an outcast San Francisco cop on the case. Wyatt is a man gripped with self-doubt over the shooting of his former partner.

Blood of Others is a study of loneliness and human frailties; a story steeped in terrifying suspense that threatens to destroy the lives of those drawn into it as it rockets to a heart-pounding conclusion.

Very good suspense thriller!

After recently listening to the first two novels in the Jason Wade series by Rick Mofina I was expecting a solid 5 star suspense thriller. My 4 star rating of Blood of Others may be a little unfair. This is the third novel in the 5 novel Reed and Sydowski series. I have previously listened to and written a 5 star review of Be Mine, the 5th book in the Reed and Sydowski series.

I suppose the unnecessarily grandiose world and history altering plans of the antagonist in Blood of Others affects my relatively low rating (4.0 vs. 4.3 at Audible and 4.5 at Amazon). Narration was excellent.

What Spell Bounding Story

What a page turner excellently written. Full of twists & turns. A pager turner you can’t put down. Story unwinds a serial killers story and a cop who is shun at every turn, plus the the women involved.

Good book, Good narrator

This isn't my favorite Rick Morfino but a really good one.Love the characters in this series. The vilin is far fetched but the rest of the characters seem like true to life people.I find myself getting angry ,which shows how into the books I get..This is a true police procedural ,where they follow evidence. Not a disguised romance or just one action scene after another. If that's what you like read the entire series. It's Great

Good story

The stories that this author writes are very good, however, I skim over a lot of the descriptions because they slow the story down. I prefer books with a lot of dialogue and less filler.

Excellent all round 😊

I sometimes find it difficult to follow American narration but this book is excellent. The story twists and turns and leads the reader down some totally unexpected and horrific paths. I highly recommend this book.
