An unlikely protagonist leads this hilarious new LitRPG, perfect for fans of Heretical Fishing, Chrysalis, and Lunadea!

Join this unexpected merchant on his penny-pinching quest for riches and sweetness!

Balthazar was just a random giant crab enjoying his life in a fantasy world full of bothersome human adventurers, but then he had to go and accidentally discover the secret of attributes and levels. And also pie.

With baked goods and coin as his new life goals, he turns to the competitive business of trading the random junk adventurers loot every day.

Follow Balthazar as he does everything to find a baker... except leave his pond, because exploring the dangerous world out there is for suckers. Witness how adventurers just can't seem to stop dying around his home. And cheer for a crab who makes great new friends by simply buying them.

What to expect from this story:

  • Silliness. Lots of it. The story doesn't take itself too seriously, so you shouldn't either.
  • The only kind of OP here is how "overpriced" the crab's deals are.
  • A system simple enough for a crab to use, but still conveniently complex when necessary, for some odd reason.
  • Proper realistic adventurers: they are not very bright, and they make very poor decisions.
  • No harems, not unless they're a harem of gold coins.
  • Did we mention there will be pastries?

Short review:
This is definitely a fun a unique book. If you enjoy a lightheaded littpg with some interesting unique additions, this book is for you. Fun story and a great performance.

Longer review:

This author is active on the littpg subreddit and promoted their book on the platform. Host was very responsive and entertaining to communicate with in the thread(s) as the were in character (MC of the story) the whole time. So I decided to give the book a look because we all like to support cool people.

The story is unique, based upon my current consumption of littpg, in several ways, which I won't spoil here. All characters are treated with the same care and detail regardless of the will be mentioned later in the story or not. This results in very colorful character creation and interaction (very similar to Vonnegut). The story can very much stand alone even though it clearly leads to a second book. That being said this story centers around trade and the next, minor spoiler if I'm correct, centers around adventure. The potential change in story design while keeping a colonel of established characters has this reader already looking forward to th next story.

The performance. It would take far more elegantly written words than these to properly praise this voice actor. So all that this listener can truly say is; well done sir and thank you.

TLDR. Buy the book, you're wasting time here.

A fun addition to the genre.

This was fun and lighthearted, but not so much there isn’t any thing going on. The only thing that bothers me is using a “Mr.Crabs” voice for the merchant crab. It is fitting but kind of annoying.

Fun book!
