Excellent start

Wonderful pacing and progression with a likable MC and solid system. It’s a great story and the narrator does a great job delivering it. This series has the potential for greatness.

this book was good enough to keep me listening most of the way through, but by the end, it had me hooked. cant wait for the next book. give it a chance, and im sure youll love it.

I want to love it...

I love everything besides the Rosalyn bit. Even when Karra tried to help him he still goes knowing full well she's trying to catch him. Was just unrealistic.

Great story with interesting take on skill acquisition

The story starts out topically, but take a decent turn, not every fight is a fight to the death that unlocks new skills, and the premise is pretty good leaving a few openings to the future.

The only comment I would have is that he “clicks” to often, connecting data that, for me at least, didn’t seem to connect. It doesn’t deminish the story imo, so I still gave it a 5 star.

Can’t wait for the next book to drop!

bad ass

this book is awesome. we follow the mc rise from the scums while needing to hide the fact that his first skill came from a stolen skill. one where the city lord will kill any one who has this skill. our mc having to find the best skills to hide the fact he has one of the stolen skills. an ruthless uncle who will turn you in for the bounty. A great ride with plenty of actions and twists. couldn't stop listening until I was finished. can't wait for book 2

Finally another good one.

Good story. Check. Good consistent narration without ear splitting spikes or whispering lulls in volume. Check. The skill system isn't completely original. The abusive background with an evil family member is a well-worn trope, but that's because it works. So far it's building very well and it is definitely a pleasant listen.

Loved the variations of characters

Good story telling and a good narration. The MC is likeable and the allied characters add depth. Explanations of how the world works were integrated well into actual story telling, not just info dumps. Made me want to listen in my house not just in my car. Thanks for a fun story.

Great addition to the long list of progression Litrpgs!

Fast pace start, with little pandering to layout, “ the system”.

Easily likable MC, brutally undeterred by the gravity of life in their own shoes and situations. Decent support characters and knowledge about, “the system” as the MC encounters obstacles.

Clearly a YA / Coming of age Litrpg, but still enjoyable as an adult reader. Highly recommend and can’t wait for volume two!!!

Great start!

The world building was really good. The dark, depressing world that we entered was very well depicted. I enjoyed the magic system. I can’t say that I can think of another system that I have encountered like it. There is a lot of growth and advancement. Overall it was a lot of fun and I will follow up with future entries in this series. The narration was really good too.
