Lots of fun

The quirky odd creature reincarnation trope is quickly becoming one of my favorites. This characters are humorous and entertaining. The story was overall fun. The narration did a good job.

It’s fine.

I only read it because it’s a monster MC litrpg. I don’t like MC side characters, and I don’t care about them. Also I find the MC to be boring and dull personality wise. I personally don’t like the book because of this but Im going to say it’s fine anyway.

PS: The main character’s personality is the main issue for me. I don’t like how he still wants to be a human and live with other humans, it’s not interesting at all. Also there is zero mental growth happening, simply because the MC doesn’t seem to need it. Truly a boring and dull MC. This is the reason why most reincarnation fantasy’s are trash, zero mental development needed.

I'm always a sucker when it comes to a MC that's been Reborn into som'min that's not human. Whether it be an Ant 🐜, a Dragon, or even a lowly Blue Slime. I could name others but you get the picture, Right? In this tale our MC is a very small Octopus, struggling to get a bite, a meal that isn't gonna turn the table and eat him instead. And thus begins Henry's monster life. And with an AI that gave him an incouraging word a pat on the back and an admonishment to not die, before cutting him loose and then swimming away!?! 😆! So Henry worked on a plan to do just that, and leveling to get stronger. It wasn't until he met the Whale Pod to realize that there were other sentient beings sharing the ocean he lived in. He made a friend, Maurice a chimeric crab and together they went off on a grand adventure to grind, level and look for more friends. And maybe just maybe we'll find out if Ash is friend or foe.
So yeah grab some sushi, get the book or better yet audiobook to enjoy Henry and Maurice's great adventure!

so much fun under the sea

at first I was kinda on the fence at the beginning as it takes a few chapters where it is the MC unable to communicate with others. it was good enough that I decided to stick with it and I'm glad I did and quickly this things picked up. lots of giant kraken and other sea beast being hunted. several funny moments and now I can't wait for the next book to drop.

lively and cute

It doesn't try to be cute for children, but for an adult it has a cute flavor. This is a pretty standard LitRPG evolution + magic story. The personalities are interesting and the setting is somewhat original. It is well balanced between land and sea for a story starting with sea life and it has very involved sea life development. I think it resembles A Snake's Life, but with much less "loner fights everything and conquers the universe" vibes. I really like how easy going it feels, always with room for making another friend. It also feels informative with random details of the main character's biologist perspective coming out.
