A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

Khemet, a disgraced praetorian charged with protecting her tomb world as it slumbers, is roused to action once more. This is her chance to prove she is meant for greater things. She will stop at nothing to see it done.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a chance to see the Necron Empire in a new way. Join a lowly cryptek with lofty ambitions and a praetorian suffering from the worst punishment imaginable – can they work together to reclaim a Necron planet now infested with humans?

THE STORY

As the Necron Empire sleeps, the Triarch praetorians watch and wait.

Khemet has guarded the tombs of her people for millions of years, patiently waiting for the day when the numberless legions of the dead will rise again. As they finally begin to stir, old ambitions and treacheries are roused with them.

Betrayed and imprisoned, dogged by the shame of a terrible failure, Khemet has endured the gravest punishment Necron ingenuity can conjure. Now she is free, offered a single chance to restore her honour and reclaim her standing. For Khemet to rise, a world must die.

Both the author and voice actor do very well to portray the heavy concepts this book tackles, and immerse the listener directly into the viewpoint of both Necron, and Imperial.

Nuanced intrigue supplemented by outstanding vocal work.

The other stories from the POV of the Necrons are also fantastic, though those stories either have them on the backfoot, or barely show their interactions with the Imperium of Man. This one delves into it center stage and really shows how terrifying and deadly they can be when it's their main objective, while still displaying their arrogance and pride. If you're a Necron fan, give it a read, you won't be disappointed.

outstanding. a solid depiction of Necrons from their point a view.

Another epic Necron tale from a talented author and even more exceptional narrator. I hope they make more Necron centered books.

The narrator was amazing

Another great insight into Necron society and values. Necrons continue to be the best xenos faction to read about, aside from orks.

Another Necron Banger

thoroughly enjoying the deeper look into Necron factions, politics and personalities. always nice to see the universe of 40k from non-imperial views.

Loving the Necron Politics

Honestly I found this book to be a amazing addition to necron lore and storys. While it cannot hold a candle to its two older and more beloved necron books. That does not reduce its performance, I actually loved this book and it's characters.

another understanding of necron lore

A excellent job portraying how evil and back stabbing the Necrons can truly be. The Necrons are shown to be truly scary slaughtering people in silence as well as portraying the destroyer plague in the Death mark character.

Be afraid of the Necrons

Overall, a good self contained book and a good expansion to necron lore.
The story is solid, though I feel the second and third acts jumped perspectives too much.
Narrator does a great job.

More Necrons

Great narration and performance by the actor! Enjoyed the story thoroughly up to the end where it feels like nothing of significance happened. The epilog was incredibly milquetoast.

I always like a Necron story, but the ending was kind of meh
