Another Winner

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This is another winner in the several series of books that I have read from this author. Some parts were predictable and one scene was out of character for the heroine but overall it was a great story. I like clean western romance. This one had the hero doing things that surprised me. the narrator was good and moved the story along.

Second Chances

"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review." I believe in second chances, and that God forgives our sins if we truly repent. This book is filled with second chances for the characters and I really enjoyed the story. I did not enjoy the narrator at times. It sounded as if he was stiffly reading a placard before an audience and it was quite distracting to me.

Lawfully Rescued

After his sister was killed in a stage coach robbery, Logan resigned as the sheriff to become a bounty hunter and bring the responsible men to justice. Paulina was the only survivor of the robbery and she may just hold the information needed to find the responsible men. Their weeks together on the trail may just bring some unexpected results...

Barbara Goss is a master storyteller, and I always enjoy her works.

This is the first book I’ve listened to that has been narrated by R. William James. I enjoyed his performance and would gladly listen to more of his narrations.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Great story

I really liked this story of redemption. It doesn't sugar coat that bad things happen. But the bounty hunters faith in God shines and many people are affected. His new wife, her fallen friends, his best friend. Justice and mercy is what it takes on this western story. I received a complimentary audio and I am voluntarily reviewing.

A wonderful listen

This story is one of a beautiful Christian series that is set half in the Old West and half set in the current decade. Each story is about a lawkeeper and the person they come to love.

This story is about revengeful thoughts that takes a sheriff and turns him into a bounty hunter to find the killer of his sister on a stage robbery.

While on the trail of the killers, Logan finds more than just bringing in the wanted men, he finds that teaching the Word of God to the only survivor or the stage robbery brings about love forever.

This narration is lovely. But as most men do, the female words all pretty much sound the same. It's just something you have to understand when listening to a deep voice man. It doesn't take away from the story, but you have to pay attention to which female character is speaking.

This book is definitely a keeper!

The power of love & forgiveness

Sheriff Logan McGuire is devastated when his beloved sister is killed in a stage coach robbery. He resigns his position and becomes a bounty hunter to hunt down the robbers. Paulina, a former saloon dancer, and the only survivor of the robbery, asks to travel with Logan. She can identify the robbers and knows where they’re headed. Logan and Paulina become friends during their travel...will it become more? When they get to town, Paulina gets a job at a saloon/brothel but Logan rescues her. Paulina thinks that Logan is her first customer, instead he pays for her first night and shares his christian beliefs. After that night Paulina is convinced to change her life for the better. However, she is soon kidnapped by the lead robber...will Logan come to the rescue in time? The supporting characters and their stories are also riveting.
This book is chocked full of action, some romance, but most of all, forgiveness and it’s power to change lives. I look forward to more stories in this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Damsel In Distress

Firstly, be aware that there is a heavy emphasis on God/religion throughout. It wasn't an issue to me, I didn't mind at all; however, I think it is important for the potential reader/listener to know. I read/listen to all different kinds of stories, so it is refreshing to be reminded of my own faith and God. The author also incorporates a few good examples of what it means to have good morals and values through character actions.

Secondly, Paulina wasn't really a weak female character, but she does sort of play the role of damsel in distress. Its nice to have a love story where the cowboy sweeps the damsel off her feet. We had a good amount of character development, considering the length of the book. I enjoyed listening as Logan and Paulina's relationship develops into something more. Also, I really liked Annie as a character.

Thirdly, the narrator does an excellent job. His southern accent definitely adds to the overall western feel of the story.

This was a quick and enjoyable clean western romance.
Plus, I can't help but love that this novel takes place in the great state of TEXAS! <3

Finding love and second chances

Barbara Goss does it again with another heart warming listen. Logan puts his sister and friend on a stagecoach which ends in their death. When he is pulling the bodies from the massacre, he finds one survivor, Paulina. She is the one key to help finding the murderers and bring them to justice. When these two set out , there is a sense of compatibility, but they are on a mission. When things get dangerous, Logan has his colleague Woody, help him and he takes care of Paulina and her friend Annie. These four characters all have baggage, but all find their way together. With the help of God through their tough times, and there are quite a few unexpected twists and turns, they search to find their happily ever after. I love Goss's interwoven messages in her stories. She is able to blend faith and love into her books in a way I find comforting. This story in particular had me rooting for Annie, I found her character full of regret and remorse for her previous misgivings and the second chance she is given at a good life is there for her taking. This is a great beginning and I look forward to more of this series.

R. William James has a deep, rough, cowboy voice, and I think he is a perfect fit for this series. I loved his narration of the characters, each with their own voice and he has a great emotional pull. Both the male and female characters had some powerful scenes and his inflections are spot on. He is a great find for this series.
