Well written

This story was good and I enjoyed listening to it. From the moment he saves the girl you are hooked.

Wow was I surprised at how visually full and how well developed the characters were for a short book. The writing was smooth; everything stayed cohesive despite large gaps of time. The romance had everything a big book has even the big surprise hurdle... and the sex came late, but it sizzled.

Loved the narrator's voice for both H and h. I was only disappointed that he didn't keep the same voice for spoken and inner. Felt a bit odd hearing a man speak Mia's inner thoughts injected between the higher pitch "she saids."

The story Hooked me!

Natasha Tanner and JB Duvane are two authors that I read, and now am so pleased that they are getting their books on Audible! Logan McAllister did an outstanding performance (I love his voice). This book had me hooked from the very beginning with the unexpected twists. The characters are strong, but have baggage. I thought the story was well written and it kept me intrigued. I really did enjoy Mia and Zack's story. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. Quick MMA listen

I would recommend this audiobook for someone looking for a quick listen. It's a good book although it does have violence, language and sex so of course I do put those warnings in it so it's not for everyone as they are triggers for some people.

This story is about Zack was a well known MMA fighter who was known as Hooked who was in prison after breaking into a home (setup by his old girlfriend). Right after Zack is released he meets Mia when she is out on the town and gets into a bad situation and is almost raped. Zack rescues her and they form a relationship when she offers to train him in MMA at her father's gyms. The story has several twists and turns from there and the story is an enjoyable listen from here.

Pretty good

Recent college graduate Mia meets Zack, a former MMA fighter when he saves her from a dangerous situation. Although they have very different backgrounds, they form an instant bond.
What I liked: I really liked the concept and storyline. The story is sexy and steamy. It was a very quick read. I went into this book blind and wasn’t aware it was a secret baby story, so I won’t hold the irresponsible behavior against the main characters  I’m a huge fan of the Bad Boy with a heart of gold. Zack embodies that persona. I really enjoyed his character development.
What didn’t work for me: The heroine isn’t very smart for a twenty-something. She’s sweet, but very immature. I’m not a fan of women making stupid choices that put themselves in danger. My other complaint is that the story felt rushed to me. It could have been fleshed out a little more to increase the impact.
Audiobook review: The audiobook narration was pretty good. Not excellent, but not horrible either. The pace was great, but I didn’t enjoy his attempts at sounding feminine voices.
Overall, I enjoyed this quick read. I rate it 3.5 Stars.

Hooked is a unique story

Hooked is a rare example of a book where I liked the male lead (Zack) more than the female lead (Mia), but that didn't dampen my enjoyment of the book. While I did find myself questioning the decision making process of both characters multiple times during the course of the book (the reason behind him going to jail, their failure to get to know each other better by sharing DETAILS of their pasts, and their general lack of communication when problems inevitably came up), I do realize that these very decisions were important plot points that propelled the story forward and it was a very entertaining ride, so I can't be mad at it. In fact, I listened to the story twice and enjoyed it even more the second time! Hooked is a unique story with very popular elements from the romance genre and is a great listen/read for fans of sports/mma romances.

Great story!

I really enjoyed this short listen. The narrating could have been a little better, but it did not ruin the story. I never listen to anything by Natasha Tanner or JB Duvane, I will be looking for more by them! I received this title for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Good story for a short book

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes it was a good story with Zach just getting out of jail and Mia just graduating college while trying to find her purpose in the world.

What three words best describe Logan McAllister’s performance?

I enjoyed the performance and his voice seemed perfect for Zach.

I enjoyed the book and was surprised by the twist because I never even gave it much thought. How it worked out was slightly unbelievable but it is a HEA romance.

Goood Listen

I enjoyed listening to this book, Natasha Tanner, JB Duvane and Logan McAllister did a great job keeping my focus throughout the entire story.

Second chance!

This is a fantastic story about starting over after a year in prison. The main character is a stand up guy who made a mistake but came out better for it.
This story is well written and narrated.
The narrator is one of my favorite narrator’s. He does a fantastic job with the characters and voices of each character which makes it easy to distinguish between characters. He also does female voices very well and his deep voices is sexy as hell!
I definitely recommend this book!!!!!
