A feel good zombie story
I will miss the Rains. I really enjoyed this story. This is part two to “the rains” so go there first. Speaking as a little brother I can relate to the feeling of being deep in trouble and having some come in and say “I’ve got it from here little brother” great story. There are a few little issues but with these types of stories you have to let some stuff slide.

Wow... just wow!
I absolutely loved everything about this series, including the audio performance.
The detail in the story put me right in the middle of everything, my heart racing, fear and sadness and exaltation and excitement around every corner.
I’m looking forward to reading other works by this author, and the performance by the audio reader was exceptional.

It’s ok, but not Orphan X quality
The story was decent. I listened to the first book and this one but my brain could not read without comparing this series to orphan X. Gregg Hurwitz is a wonderful writer, and I understand this was for a youth audience but I guess I just expected a better story. I didn’t have any problem putting this story down to do other things unlike other things Gregg has written. I could see this being made into a two hour movie. It almost seems like it was written with that goal in mind.

Would be a great movie! Like War of the Worlds.
Not just the storyline, but the entire nature of the story. It has tremendous cinematic potential, including great settings, gory-ish visuals, and a lot of different and interesting characters, plus one of those near perfect heros needing a gorgeous, up-and-coming actor to play the role. Superb good role models and bad role models for young adults, too.
