It took a while to peak my interest

It was too mellow for my taste. It picked up towards the end but I'm not sure whether to continue the series or abandon it and move on...

Ireally enjoyed this book and cared about the characters. A very family type of feeling with this story.

Great Story. Fun listen. The music interlude is a bit distracting but the narrator creates and carries the characters.

Very high - I enjoyed the narration and the story.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters especially the ExtraOrdinary Wizard - she was cranky but endearing. The characters are mostly well drawn out, the story was well done - exciting but well-balanced with humor.

For Potter Fans and Children of all Ages

Great story. Much of the ending was predictable from the very start, but it is a childrens book. I would recommend this to my 10 year old neice. Fantastic narration of all the characters by Allan Corduner. Definately a 5 star performance. Imagry is fantastic. The story is fun and thoroughly enjoyable.

Fun, fun,fun

I loved this young adult fantasy book. The animal characters in the book had definite personalities and real relationships. The characters are endearing and the story moves along at a fast pace. Lessons are taught and learned and there is lots of action and adventure! I loved the good versus evil aspect of the as well as the clever and intellegent way problems are apprached and solved. I read (listened) to a sequel and will definitely read more in this series.

Have you listened to any of Allan Corduner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. He is an amazingly talented narrator and my 9 year old daughter and I were sad to learn he is not the narrator of the rest of the series.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't know but if a film was made, we would be there for sure!

I read the reviews comparing Septimus Heap to Harry Potter. I was skeptical going in. My daughter (who is 9) and I decided to listen to the audio book together.

The narrator of the first book is absolutely amazing! The narrator changes in book 2 and remains that way throughout the rest of the series.

We were pulled into a story filled with characters we easily bonded with. Magic, family-friendly tragedy, adventure...there was so much to like about this book.

My daughter was so excited that she didn't want to go to sleep every night. She begged me to stay up longer for "just one more chapter".

I'd say it is a great story and we shall continue on to book 2 excitedly!

I was swept away from the very first spoken word! Being a Harry Potter fan I did not think I would ever find another story that could capture my imagination so completely and keep me wanting more - Bravo!!!!

The characters are interesting and the book leaves you wanting more - there are seven books so far and I am on the third now.

I haven't listened to Allan Corduner's other performances but he does the voices well and keeps my attention.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes - but it is 12 hours long I believe so I listened to it at work off and on through the week.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the books!
