Publisher's Summary

A stable full of dragons to groom, train, and ride! That's Dragonsdale, a riding school run by Cara's dad. All Cara's friends are busy people preparing their dragons for the Island Championships; even spoiled Hortense, who dumps her hard work on guess who? But Cara doesn't mind. She loves every minute she can spend with the beautiful beasts. Because ever since her mom's terrible accident, Cara herself is forbidden to ride. Against her father's wishes, she trains the wild dragon Skydancer in secret and dreams of a day when she, too, can take flight.

Dragon Lovers Delight

This was the first book I purchased from Audible.com and it may be considered a book for young readers; no matter, I loved it. The story line was delightful and the characters popped into my imagination with ease and color.

Raising Dragons from a kid's point of view

The story was written from the point of view of a pre-teen girl; it could have been a horse farm in today's world. She grows to understand her father better, while she endures humility when a girl rival appears to triumph over her.

This is a well written book that will keep you engaged as you learn about the girl, her father and the orphaned dragon she's grown to love.

My 8 year old loved it.

My 8 year old brought this book home from the library and we started to read it together. It has a very good storyline in the fantasy genre aimed at the younger reader. In fact my son loved it so much he bought the download out of his allowance so that he could listen to it on his iPod while he followed along in the book.

I wish audible had the second book Riding the Storm.
