Publisher's Summary

Unlock your hidden potential to lose weight quickly and feel healthier with intermittent fasting!

Are you struggling with losing weight but not sure where to turn? Imagine a natural way to lose weight quickly and safely without needing any special pills or products.

Intermittent fasting is a practice that has been used by humanity for countless generations for a wide variety of reasons including achieving enlightenment and fighting the causes of aging at the source. However, it has regained prominence in recent years for its ability to help people lose weight while at the same time absorbing more nutrients from their food than ever before. Based on his extensive knowledge of fasting and weight loss, Craig reveals how you can unleash your body's hidden power to lose weight and fight disease by intelligently restricting your food intake.

Some bad advice mixed with good.

It's hard to trust any health expert that thinks diet soda in moderation is ok. It's bad for you and the planet.

He maintains the eat less move more theory while speaking a little about insulin and insulin resistance.

Some of the practical knowledge was helpful.

Fasting done right

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Short answer, yes. If you want to lose weight I would suggest getting this book because it talks about topics other than diet and exercise in losing weight and keeping it off.

Any additional comments?

There's a lot of diets out there but I found this one particularly helpful because it touches on subjects outside of diets. For example it talks about foods you must not eat and by doing that, you will increase your lifespan exponentially. Yes food is important, but I'd rather live life to the fullest and longest rather than die of heart disease. Good book!

A lot of crap

There is a lot of really bad advice in this book. It seems the author is just giving his opinion on fasting rather than actually stating facts based on the current medical literature. For instance your body will not begin “to eat itself” if you exercise vigorously after a 24 hour fast. Ridiculous. He also tosses around the phrase “internal injury” quite a bit, as in if you binge after a fast you may cause internal injury. What does that even mean? Luckily, most of the bad advice errs on the side of caution and he seems to be quite conservative about fasting so I don’t think anyone can really hurt themselves. All that said there are a few good nuggets of advice and my favorite is “Eat like an adult, have a slice of cake not the whole thing.”

Thin on science

I was expecting to find detailed information on the physiology of how the body responds to fasting as well as explanation of the research on fasting. There was little to none of this. Overall an amateur overview of fasting.
