Publisher's summary

If happiness is a gift, then Cameron Stanton is my Santa Claus.

I can’t tell you the exact moment I fell in love with him. Only that I did. With every glance, every touch, every minute...he stole a little more of me.

They say that all men are created equal. Well, that’s a blatant lie! I know, because I met God's gift to women in Vegas; I pretended he was my husband to get rid of another man. He took our fake marriage seriously, and it became his personal goal to consummate. He spoke to me in French, and I lied to him in German. His laughter was addictive. But I thought what happens in Vegas would stay in Vegas. Until it didn't.

Dr. Stanton turned up where I least expected, and my lies came back to haunt me. The attraction is palpable. The secrets unchangeable. I need him more than air.

This is a stand-alone contemporary romance.

Sexist, elitist hypocrite seeks doormat

It's not often that I write a review. And I listen to an average of a book a day. So when I say that the h in this book is so unlikable, that I nearly returned the book without finishing it, it's after having listened to over 3000 delightfully dark and smutty books with all sorts of alphaholes as charracters.
Spoilers ahead, and these are just a few of the examples- he can go to a high class brothel as a regular member and pay for sex, lapdances, etc. But she, poor and struggling to support 3 people, can't work in the bar because of the men who go there. He makes her quit, and then goes back after promising he'd give up his elite membership. But it's "different" somehow for him. So when she begs for her job back, he starts threatening her. Then she gets drugged and ends up in the hospital, and his response is to further victimize her and take her son away from her in court. He admits it's to control her into permanently quitting her bartending job, but then later claims he was only thinking of their son's best interests.
Oh, and he likes BDSM, but what he really means is that he likes to be rough, and she isn't allowed to speak up when he hurts her. She does tell him it hurts her two different times and he tells her that he needs this and that pain is good. Not exactly healthy.
I'm usually the first in line to fall for the damaged bad boy, the alpha, the bully. But this guy is just toxic.
The only thing that this book had going for it was the supporting charracters. I hope they get their own stories with less toxicity and hypocrisy.

An epic love story you really should indulge in!

Wowzers this was a long audiobook. Over 18 hours of goodness! Elena Wolfe breathes life into Ashley. She gives us ALL the emotions and as always delivers the goods and Stephen Dexter’s smooth voice brings us the multifaceted Cameron.

This story is about Dr. Cameron Stanton and Ashley who meet in Vegas. Ashley pretends Cameron is her husband to get rid of another man and Cameron is keen to play along. A series of missed connections, secrets and lies see them reuniting later but there are so many “Holy Cr@p” moments where you just go, Tee, I totally didn’t see that coming!! I can’t tell you much more about the story as you need to listen to it to see how it unfolds. It really is THAT good.

I loved the world that Tee created for Ashley and Cameron and their relationship was one with real emotions. There was so much push and pull between these two that you just want to shake them at times, but don’t worry it’s all resolved by the end of the book and then there’s the “Epilogue”. That is a whole other book that gives you the icing on the cake and a window into Cameron and Ashley’s future.

There are some super hot scenes that nearly melted my ear buds clean out of my ears. These two really know how to tangle those sheets up, there’s urgency, passion, tenderness and love. It’s the whole package. This book is full of surprises, twists, turns, longing, love, fury, chemistry and laughter. He is cocky, demanding, fiercely protective and loving. She is independent, feisty, challenging and nurturing. They are an unlikely couple but just go together like a couple of puzzle pieces. It’s an epic love story that you really should indulge in.

Dr. Stanton (Boxset) Audiobook by T L Swan

Formats Read: Audiobook

I Give this Book a 4-4.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as a High 4.

**Audiobook review at bottom :)

HEA(?): An Awesome HEA.
Relationship Type: MF
Heat: 4.5/5
Romance: 4-4.5/5
Pacing: Pacing is pretty smooth throughout :)
Drama: 3.5-4-4.5/5, I kinda not sure where to stand in certainty of this specific rating, but regardless it’s really good! I do wish there was more angst-drama, don’t know why I was craving it so much while listening to this book but I guess it’s because the plot is/was very addictive Lol
Suspense: 3.5/5
Dark(?): No :)
No Spoilers.

I’m still fairly new to this author, and the writing of this is so good!
I was pulled right into her writing immediately.
I’m really looking forward to reading more books cause I love how there’s so much depth in this book, and love the fact that this author isn’t afraid of drawing out emotions with the characters & with the reader. And with a really enjoyable HEA. Seriously Well Done.

Audiobook Review:
Overall: 4-4.5/5, Listing as 4.
Story: 4-4.5/5
Performance: 4-4.5/5
Narrator: Elena Wolfe & Stephen Dexter

I’ve never listened to a book narrated by Stephen Dexter before, and good gracious where the heck have I been?! This man has a gorgeous voice! And will immediately be listening to more books narrated by him, he did a great job narrating Cameron and everyone else in his POV.
Elena Wolfe is one of my favorite narrators. Without looking at who were narrating this, when I immediately heard Ashley’s POV I KNEW immediately who was narrating cause her voice is so identifiable and it was so easy to listen to her and I did enjoy her narration of other characters as well :)

First book I HATED the female lead

The narrators were good I don’t know any Australias personally and have never been to Australia 😢 but sometimes it sounded like the accent was off a little. Nothing to bad.

The story: so the reason only 3 stars first off way too long the epilogue is tagged as DrStantons epilogue yet it was still 90% from Ashley’s POV. Should have just made it into more chapters instead. Towards the last 20 chapters it’s like the writer’s brain shut off and she just kept repeating the same damn words. I have never heard the word “sexily” used and I HATE that word she used it so many times and really close together. Then it’s every description was a word ending with “ily” it was so aggravating I actually was getting angry but I kept listening since I hate not finishing a book.
Ashley was only nice in the beginning after her night with the doctor. She was the most childish, judgmental, double standard, selfish, jerk. I hated her and didn’t even want a HEA. Cameron was super Alpha and was controlling but it still didn’t make me cheer for Ashley at all. Even when she did something wrong she still managed to try and make herself the victim. There were a few times where the story just lacked detail. Cameron and Joshua have some kind of trigger when it comes to something (story was so ling I’m forgetting details and refuse to listen again) but she never explained WHY they have that trigger or why the mom is such a C U Next Tuesday. Just really all over the place. Only reason it got 3 was the sex scenes were pretty hot.
I’m going to give this writer another try but if she uses the word Sexily again I quit I won’t read anything from her again.

OMG Wow

This book had me laughing, rolling and smiling so much my cheeks hurts. I loved this book. Dr Stanton is so hot, and have so much to offer, I kept listening with anticipation.

The storyline was amazing, I kept yelling at Ashley throughout the book. If you think T.L. Swan Mr. Masters and Mr. Spencer was on fire, they had nothing on. Dr Stanton. I was so flushed listening to this book, I had to take mini breaks.

Definitely a read I was looking for. It’s fire 🔥

Just Meh

Everything was done "sexily". Too many things jammed in to one book. Too many epilogues.

Story took a turn

I remember reading this book in KU, but could never remember the plot. Now, I think I know why.

I had to stop halfway thru. The narration is great, sex is steamy, and it's a pretty good story. BUT it takes a turn.

I'm an avid AR reader, and there isn't much that turns me away from a book. I will read just about any theme. But the H does something that even I wouldn't forgive, not even in suspended reality.

*spoiler alert if you'd like to know the issue*

He tries to legally take her kid away. It was too big of a stretch in the plot for me to continue reading. Forget heartbreak, that's unforgivable. There is no way to clean that up and I be happy with the ending.

Do NOT read

The sample of this book was pretty good. Two strong characters and a good story. Then the wheels fell off. The lead male became super controlling and just a jerk, the lead female became spineless and stupid. They are both supposed to be doctors? It doesn’t add up. Then the writing…..everyone smirks all the time (even when they really shouldn’t) and everyone looks at everyone else “deadpan”. This word is used more and more as the book goes on. It is almost like the author handed the metaphorical pen to a 16 year old girl. I was so mad at the lead male I stopped reading this book twice. The final time I just didn’t go back. There are dangling storylines that never get explained or resolved. For example, a cardiac surgeon punches the windshield of his car. She thinks his hand is broken. Would a normal surgeon risk his career like this? And do you know how his hand is? Broken, not broken? NO because the author never resolves it. If you are a strong woman and want to avoid getting super pissed at a terrible story and poor writing, skip this book! Only good part is the female narrator.

Could not finish it!

For me it wasn’t worth it. No substance! Annoying characters that seemed to try too hard. I didn’t even got to the twists and I can already tell what it is! It’s a pass!
