Publisher's summary

Hate your job. Get a superpower. Betray your country.

Roman Martin's life doesn't get any easier once he makes his way back from the Eastern Province.

The shadow user named Hazrat is gunning for him, and Margo, the mysterious woman who has the same superpower as Roman, will go to any lengths to end his life prematurely. He still hasn't been approved to be an exemplar, and once he confesses to his teacher what he has been up to over the last week, including destroying an Eastern Province military facility, the odds of Roman ever being a superhero are slim to none.

But there are other options available for him, something he is already good at, something that would involve his relationship with Nadine, and the power he has through his dolls.

Yet there is also revenge.

And when Roman is given the choice to either go after those who are actively trying to destroy him, or to lay low and follow the guidance of the Centralian government, he makes a decision that could ultimately strip him of his power, forever changing the course of Roman's life.

Contains mature themes.

Excellent!

Excellent Read but where are you going from here? It definitely did not end on a high note and I see that the tying of the plot lines was not as substantial as first thought. So now we are left to wonder how our hero will raise himself and meet his nemesis and subdue them! This is fine if your next book is on Audible next week! I fear that I must be held in suspense for months to come!
Neil did an excellent job in his narration.
Excellent book I just hate cliffhangers this tall.

Harmon has done it again.

Once again, another book in the series that leaves me wanting more. I had the impression this would be the last in an awesome trilogy. I was wrong, so pleasantly wrong. the ending of this one leaves me needing another dose lol.

i like the series

I usually dont get to critical of most books. I previously gave the 3rd book in this series a terrible review. I still think that characters are inconsistant, very. plot is thin, and has a huge cliffhanger. If you like this authors stories you should enjoy the read. now that 4 is out I reread this and looking forward to seeing how the slow plit continues. I am sure another massive cliffhanger awaits us and 18 months before next one is released. I gave 4 stars because all authors should be paid for their work whether I like the cliffhager.

An already interesting story carries on

Yes, there are harem sections but they really play 2nd fiddle to the intriguing unfolding of the story. Onto book 4.

Just stop

I really liked the first two books. Its too bad this one is complete garbage. Reading reviews of the next two it doesn't seem to get better, I'm done.

Why I don't like the author

I like some of Harmon Cooper's books, like We Could be Heroes, but House of dolls is a prime example why it's a last resort for something to listen to. Ugly bastard fantasy, undeserved or worked for power, weak plot, little personality, and everything feels like it's built around the plot rather than a plot in the world.
