I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I do attack books with reckless abandon and go through them so quickly I end up just getting omnibus versions so I don’t sell my soul to have a new book to listen to, and this book series was really really good. I enjoyed the variety of characters as well as the light dabbling of pop culture references that do not take away from the story at all. I really did have a blast and Jonathan waters and Maeve Yorke was phenomenal. It was so so good!

good read

Great character development, fast paced and exciting storyline. The world and the intrigue are well developed. I also liked the way he keeps stats as a separate chapter throughout.

Different supers story

Different spin on the super hero story but good. Not everything is sunshine and roses with our hero having loss and difficult choices. Good narration that I will listen too again.

Definitely listen to War God For hire too if you can.

Pacing is perfect. Especially fight pacing. There doesn’t need to be five phases to a fight where both sides underestimated each other again.

pretty good a lot of stats

It is a very good story there is a lot of stat chapters but easy to skip over if its a drag on your experience a little overly complicated with the different name for the same person which seems a little silly because only a super is going to be chiseled to look like a statue so idk maybe too much it's not like any of the supers are wearing masks!
