Publisher's summary

I didn't want to love Jake Johnson. He was the boy I fell in love with, my brother's best friend, the man who took my heart. But sometimes love doesn't listen. Sometimes your heart makes its own choices, pushes boundaries, and picks the exact wrong moment to show its vulnerable head.

The night we first kissed was my slap back to reality - the moment I realized he would never see me as more than a little sister. I did the only thing I could think of that would insure it never happened again. I moved away.

Now, three years later, faced with a betrayal that pushes me to my limits, I'm thrown back into the arms of the man I'd sworn I left for good - the one who'd seen me through everything.

They say time heals but not when you press pause. I knew returning home wouldn't be easy, I just didn't realize it would be this hard.

Adorable

Very sweet friends to lovers romance. I loved it but found myself wishing the main character would stop running away every time something went wrong, but I guess part of the book is about her learning to stand up for herself.

Loved the story and the characters. Did not like the narrator's voice. I really like this author.

Great the second time around

This was actually a reread for me. I had read it about 4 years ago, but I hadn’t started reviewing yet. I listened to the audio version this time around. I still enjoyed it. It’s a brother’s best friend story which I love. It also fits into friends to lovers and second chance. Communication between the characters could have prevented a lot of the problems, but that seems to be the case for almost every book

Slow Burn Second Chances

Longtime childhood friends get a second chance a love but it doesn’t come easy. There is a fair amount of angst and heartache along the way. It does get a little slow at points but over all it’s a great slow burn romance.

Avie does a great job bringing this story to life.

Home to you

Wow, this was a great story with all the feels. So heart wrenching and heartwarming. Great characters and I loved the supporting characters as much as the main ones. Be prepared to cry, laugh, and feel the passion.
The narrative saw good, as well.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review

DNF

Not my type of heroine. She was annoying, cringe-worthy and didn't stop with the pining in her inner monologues.

Horrible Narrator!!!!

First review I have ever left. This story was pretty good. I really want the next book, but I wont buy it because I know I can not stomach the narrator another go around! Sounded as though she was narrating for a childrens book. Awful is what I would call it!
