Fanciful Description History

This is an inordinate, as well as instructive, listening. It piles together various periods, including 20th century discoveries, into an absolutely engaging account. I think it would be enjoyable no matter what one's level of knowledge on the subject is.

Got all, what I need about incas civilization.

As a general history, this is really excellent work. The politics, economy and society of the Inca are intertwined with the personal histories.

Best ever. I have read about INCAS.

You will find much information about the civilization. The building of their temples, the cities, which are the focus of most of the history books is left for those books, and here, the focus is on the people, the leaders, and how they believed, went to war, and how they were so easily "defeated". A must read to learn a better history.

The people, the area, the tample, great book.

The author described the history from beginning, through the rise, and then, the overthrow of the last great leader. The people, who were part of the Inca, a collective of tribes spread across the western half of South America, were not ever actually defeated. exclussive

The author includes extensive notes and a good bibliography. I did not explore these carefully, but there were times I was somewhat skeptical of the detail provided; that said, the author often used phrases such as "one can imagine that he must have wondered..." This is a good popular history

must listen

This book listen like an exciting historical novel but it is all sadly too true and helps to explain how modern South America came to be what it is today. General fans of history and military history enthusiasts will find this an absorbing good

valuable book

The author explains clearly that the only primary sources are from the victors, and that even those may have been fanciful accounts by individuals who were more interested in their own self-aggrandizement

great understandable

A Very well researched book that explores not only the differing cultures but highlights mans unflinching avarice and greed, often becoming more savage than the "savages" being conquered in the name of a God the inca never could comprehend or understand.
