Another great Carly story

This installment of Carly Moore’s complicated messy life packed an emotional punch. It was a roller coaster ride of all the things wrapped up in all the feelings. Carly is hiding from her dangerous and powerful father and ex-fiancée and a dead car resulted in her ending up in small town Drum. She is working as a waitress in the local bar and dating the local mechanic, Wyatt. Her somewhat comfortable new life is upended when Lula, the waitress she replaced, returns to town and Wyatt’s secrecy causes her to break up with him. When Lula goes missing, Carly teams up with her friend Marco to investigate. But things get messy and complicated quickly. The book was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline as shown through sweet moments, exciting action, danger, family drama, painful pasts, mystery, plot twists, imperfect characters, secrets, missteps, and laughs. I am looking forward to reading more in this series. 4.5 stars.

Shannon McManus did a great job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Better than the first

I’m my opinion, the second book was better than the first. I was a little on the fence after seeing some negative reviews, whether I would enjoy this one as much as the first. And I have to say, I liked it so much more. There is a lot of potential. And while we didn’t get a lot farther in the main background story, I really enjoyed this mystery. Off to the next I go

Wyatt, You Are So Wrong

Constant looking for the innocent & always a step in wrong direction. Finally, things come ALMOST to an end... interesting reading.

WONDERFUL SERIES!!!!

This is the best series I've listened to in a VERY LONG time. Denise Grover Swank does a magnificent job of capturing the attention of the listener/reader and holding it throughout the story. I love that some of the characters are so mysterious and some so shady. Shannon McManus is an excellent choice of narrators. I hope she continues to be the chosen one throughout the rest of the series. This is definitely a must-listen series and I would recommend starting from Book 1. However, when you click on the series, Book 3 doesn't seem to be available. But if you search for it, it will come up as being available. Don't miss it!

LOVE this series!!!!

Carly is a badass!! I discovered this because I slogged my way through the Fenton County series’ but Carly’s story is SO much better.

Carly is great

This is the second book in this series about Carly Moore who is running from her father and ends up in Drum. It really helps to listen to the first book to understand what has happened. I can't wait for the next book to be released in audio. Shannon MacManus is a wonderful narrator. She brings Denise Grover Swanks' books to life.
