Publisher's summary

A good deed leads to danger.

A recent broken engagement leaves Ava Howard in a rut, looking for meaning and purpose in her life. Enter a stranger with a ready grin, who says that his name is Micah and claims to have known Ava's ex back in high school.

Micah is currently "in between" jobs, and Ava feels led to offer him work doing odd jobs around her home. Little does she know that her simple act of kindness will challenge her faith, threaten the lives of the people she loves, and have her running for her life.

Ava hopes that somehow she will be saved. In the end, she may be forced to make a devastating choice in order to survive.

Great story with unsuspecting ending!

I love the narrator who captured the emotions perfectly. The book itself had humor I appreciated, and suspenseful moments that kept me hooked. The ending was a bit unusual which is good because it was totally unexpected. We know that with God anything is possible so to some the ending might seem unrealistic but I found it unique.

This was a total waste of a credit.

The woman in this story is so self -pitying she can only think of herself, even thoughts of others are about their relation to her. She has no basic protective instinct and I can only hope she never has children. She comes across as whiny, inept, and dependent. I didn't like the narrator and this may have contributed to my dislike.
