Publisher's summary

From the celebrated imagination of Dean Koontz comes a powerful reworking of one of the classic stories of all time. If you think you know the legend, you know only half the truth. Now the mesmerizing saga concludes....

As a devastating hurricane approaches, as the benighted creations of Victor Helios begin to spin out of control, as New Orleans descends into chaos and the future of humanity hangs in the balance, the only hope rests with Victor's first, failed attempt to build the perfect human. Deucalion's centuries-old history began as the original manifestation of a soulless vision - and it is fated to end in the ultimate confrontation between a damned creature and his mad creator. But first they must face a monstrosity not even Victor's malignant mind could have conceived - an indestructible entity that steps out of humankind's collective nightmare with powers, and a purpose, beyond imagining.

Grear way to end main trilogy

It's a really good end to the main trilogy... but is it really the end? It still sets up future books nicely as well.

I also like the link in with the Odd Thomas series in the last chapter

One of my favorites

I love this series but the narrator's use of humor and subtle vocal changes make this so incredibly entertaining!

Trucknian

Certainly different - but great series - Koontz is definitely in the abstract but his stories are captivating and enjoyable

Deliciously funny and sometimes sweet

I’m very much enjoying this series and this book, with one glaring exception is the best yet. Like dark humor? It’s got truckloads! Strangely tender moments between the most unlikely characters? Buckets full! Deep insights into the human condition and the questions we all ask ourselves in the quiet rooms of our hearts? Gotcha covered in spades.

With the jarring exception of the unnecessary scene involving children’s clothing this is the best book of the series so far.

Christopher Lane is extraordinary as always and handles witty banter and humor with the same deftness and timing he brings to the most moving of scenes. A truly wonderful talent.

Another Hit!

I've always been drawn to the stories of Frankinstein.
This modern take with the historical was enjoyable.
Several diverse characters and the banter between the detectives was very clever and funny.

Not the best fit for the narrator

Narrator was good just out of his element trying to do southern and especially creole accents. Felt like he would've nailed it if the story was set in NY or up east somewhere. The story is a cool.take on an old classic. Not too heavy, funny banter and some interesting characters

Love this series!!

Dean Koontz has a very ominous way of writing that keeps you stressed out about the characters and what will happen next. I love the way he reveals things about characters and the perspectives of multiple sides of the story.
