Publisher's summary

Based on Scripture and resonating with historical detail comes a beautiful, fully imagined story of a young child and his role in the Last Supper of Jesus Christ.

When Nehemiah, the child of Jewish exiles, begins hearing whispers and experiencing portentous visions, it quickly becomes clear to his father and his rabbi that the young cupbearer is meant for a higher purpose...but what? Certain that the Messiah is alive at that very moment, the family waits for the boy’s destiny to be revealed.

From the ancient site of the Garden of Eden, Nehemiah undertakes a perilous journey. The caravan route is full of danger, hardship, and mystery - all of it linked to what Nehemiah has in his keeping.

In due time, his path becomes clear. It leads to Jerusalem, to a wealthy Pharisee named Joseph of Arimathea...and to Jesus of Nazareth.

In Take This Cup, the second installment of the Jerusalem Chronicles, Bodie and Brock Thoene breathe new life into one of Scripture’s most mysterious moments and expand their award-winning historical fiction with power and depth. The second audiobook in the Jerusalem Chronicles (When Jesus Wept)

Includes an author’s note and a full list of the authors’ books by series.

Biblical Christian fiction with Christ appearing in the story.

Loved it!

I was transported back in time and space. The rich descriptive passages, which, if I was reading myself, I would have hurried over, painted the scene, and enriched my imagination. The change of voices for the characters was ver well done. The book came alive.

Good listen.

I really enjoyed the imagery the author as well as the narrator have given this book. It blends Bible history with knowledge of the times to create a wonderful story.

A Very Good Read

very interesting and new take on Jesus and the Last Supper. And as always, new insight into Hebrew custom & tradition, as well as Scripture. I've now read over 40 books by the Thoenes; I've enjoyed, and learned something new from each one.

Amazing

I bought this quite awhile ago, but hadn't gotten around to listening to it. I stumbled upon it again while binge watching The Chosen. I loved them both. Great back stories for what we know from scripture. Wonderfully done.

The Cup Bearer

As always, the authors take the truths of the Bible and weave a tale that makes the unamed of Scripture spring to life.
