Publisher's Summary

The world is a wasteland. Well, it's mostly a wasteland. New Orleans is a swamp. Dallas is a jungle. Mount Rushmore is still there, but all the presidents have been turned into muppets. No one's really checked on Canada. But, no, for the most part, the world is a wasteland.

Danger is everywhere. Savage raiders, mindless mutants, superintelligent animals, cannibals, dangerous vegetation, and people just generally being jerks to one another. The post-apocalyptic world is full of terrors and generally terrible people.

New Hope is a town struggling to survive. Actually, they're doing pretty well considering the world blew up around them. They've got a functioning government, a decent amount of food, and a couple of kickball teams with a healthy rivalry. But now, an army of ruthless raiders is heading their way to destroy their little piece of the apocalypse.

Their only hope is a man called the Librarian. Okay, not really. There's another guy named Logan who's much less awkward, tougher looking, and probably much better at protecting people than the Librarian. Even his dog looks mean. But, either Logan or the Librarian will have to face the horrors of the apocalypse to save the people of New Hope from a fate worse than the end of the world.

The Duck and Cover series is filled with all the action, adventure, and sweet, sweet violence you'd expect after the apocalypse. But there's more to Armageddon than fast cars, hot women, and wearing old tires as shoulder pads. (Though there are certainly those things.)

Listen to the first audiobook in the series now.

It's the end of the world as you've never known it.

Loved it!

Post-Apocalyptic Nomadic Warriors is the first book in the Duck & Cover series, and it's an absolute blast. If you like humor and you aren't familiar with Benjamin Wallace then you are missing out, big time! Benjamin add his special brand of humor and added it to a classic road warrior-esque tale. Fast paced with plenty of action and a ton of humor...like the SSB (super smart bears) I was actually listening to this while out in public and kept getting strange looks because I kept laughing. Already picked up the rest of the series for my kindle, but I honestly would rather wait for the audio because....

...Phil Thron's narration was fantastic. He totally brought this crazy world and wacky characters to life, and he delivers the humor perfectly. Seriously he never disappoints.

I received a copy of this audio title in exchange for an unbiased review.

Even a Mushroom Cloud Has a Silver Lining

So - you're probably here because you saw an ad of Facebook or something about this book being being the end of the world -only funny... And that is true.

But aside from just being funny - it's a great story! I absolutely loved this book. And Phil Thron's narration is absolutely spot-on and perfect for this. He brought life to these characters and made me want to keep listening until it was done! Now I want the rest of these books on audible too! (I commute a LOT)

You won't regret this purchase. At all. It's being added to my list of "books I will instantly recommend to everyone".

Good story, well done!

We are introduced to two post-apocalyptic nomadic warriors; Logan and our hero Jerry. Jerry is a librarian who has dreams of becoming a warrior; to right the wrongs, slay the evil doers, and rescue the downtrodden. PA Nomadic Warriors is a satire of sorts on the literary explosion of post-apocalyptic novels and the post-apocalyptic world the authors describe with great detail. The tale takes place seven years after the start of the apocalypse. Jerry lives, travels, and works out of a motor home he calls Silver Lining, sharing space with his trusted companion Chewy the large mastiff. The quiet town of New Hope is the target. The citizens of New Hope are convinced there is a large band of raiders coming their way shortly after destroying a nearby town. The town hires smooth-talking Logan after rejecting the same offer from Jerry. The groundwork is laid, the dice are thrown, and the mold is cast. Did New Hope hire the right man for the job? Only time spent with the rest of this book will tell. The story winds up with a classic exciting, dramatic Mustang versus Viper sports car chase between good guy and exposed bad guy. All-in-all not a bad story; it starts out with a little humor, but quickly develops into much more. Post-Apocalyptic with Humor

I totally enjoyed listening to this book. I did like the characters of Nomadic Warrior Jerry, Chewy the dog, Erica and the bear clan, look forward to sequel. This is a Post-Apocalyptic /Dystopian story which occurs 7 yrs. after disaster as people continue to survive. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

disappointed

I feel rather meh about the story. I'd been waiting for it to hit audible for months. almost feel duped for the excellent cover and blurb. There are 2 main characters and several 1 dimensional chars that could be better developed. The narration doesnt really help as it's very bland with no excitement really. 80% build up to the story and no creativity to the ending. Just a very big let down.

thoroughly enjoyed this book

what a great book this is exactly how I imagine the end of the world. the author has a great sense of humour and I adore the 3 bears.
plenty of twists and turns and some high speed action mixed with a real romance story and a happy ending. What more could you want?
