Publisher's summary

USA TODAY bestseller from the author of The Mountain Between Us, now a major motion picture!

"When Maggie opened her eyes that New Year's Day some seventeen months ago, I felt like I could see again. The fog lifted off my soul, and for the first time since our son had died and she had gone to sleep—some four months, sixteen days, eighteen hours, and nineteen minutes earlier—I took a breath deep enough to fill both my lungs."

Life began again for Dylan Styles when his beloved wife Maggie awoke from a coma. A coma brought on by the intense two-day labor that resulted in heartbreaking loss. In this poignant love story that is redolent with Southern atmosphere, Dylan and Maggie must come to terms with their past before they can embrace their future.

Maggie

Loved the story, hated the narrator, almost quit listening, he made Dillion sound like a dragnet detective, Amos like Tonto from the Lone Ranger, jake the car sales man like “Goofy”. Should have stuck withNarrator of “The Dead Don’t Dance”! He was spot on! Love Charles Martin book and for that reason kept listening.

Good story, missed previous narrator

Enjoyed the story. But almost couldn’t get past the fact that Jonathan Riggs didn’t do the narration. This narrator was fine, but Jonathan Riggs is the voice that belonged with this book.

How the town sticks together

Love was shown in so many ways even in difficult situations. They all supported each other.

Series should be read by the same narrator

The story was greatly diminished by the change in narrator. Story was great. Stick with Jonathan for your books. The characters lost their life in this follow up. I couldn't even find any of Amos' personality.

Story of Restoration and Hope

I've read all Charles Martin's book but read the Awakening Series last. This, his first books, are as good as any of his others.
The author is masterful at describing personal attributes, the environment and setting and, most of all, gut-wrenching feelings associated with human suffering and the exhilaration that comes with acceptance and renewed hope. the characters will become the reader's friends who often share common pain as well as joy. Knowing Mr. Martin"s faith in God makes all his writing a bonus for readers.
