disappointed

I am currently listening to this book. Although the story is interesting, I am quit disappointed in the authors choice of verbage. I mean, the main character is a teacher, however, her use of ain't, cant, bitch, and the ultimate controversial N word is used at length. The author is obviously well read and can write, but she choses to use the slang of the African American as though it is a proper way to speak. i just think that it is sad that she feels that she has to speak words in this way to communicate to a certain genre. I do not speak to African Americans in this way and they do not expect me to speak to them in this way, however, it is totally acceptable for African Americans to speak each other in this way. I just do not understand this way of thinking.
