Publisher's summary

Dealing with the aftermath of her husband’s affair has not been easy for Sylvia Blackwell. When she vowed to stay by his side for better or for worse, she never imagined that would mean becoming a parent to Jordan, his troubled teenaged love child. Now, Sylvia is facing a new dilemma that could not only be the final straw that breaks her fragile marriage, but could also shatter her already strained relationship with her sister, Janelle.

Tricia King never suspected there was trouble in her marriage. After all, she couldn’t have asked for a better husband than Titus. He’s everything she expected in a mate: a good provider, a great father, responsible, and supportive. She has no idea something is missing from their relationship until she finds out what he was giving someone else. Hurt and confused, she finds herself being counseled by a most unlikely ally.

Janelle was warned by her sister about the sting of karma and the futility of dating a married man, and she has come face-to-face with the reality of her actions. Her secret relationship with Titus is now open for everyone to see, including the new man in her life, Sherrod. Janelle is now in the center of a battle between the man she loves and the family she’s trying to hold on to.

From the drama-filled imagination of La Jill Hunt comes Imitation of Wife, the continuing tale of two sisters navigating their complicated lives and tumultuous relationships while trying to maintain their bond with one another.

Loved the sequel

The sequel was well written. I would have liked to hear more from Jordan. The narrator was not as good as the person who narrated the first book. Huge difference making the listen a push.

The Ending?

Tricia is a mess! This chick seriously needs to find her happy place because she gives true meaning to the phrase misery loves company. She’s oblivious to whatever going on around cares about appearances. Titus should have just supported her from afar. He could have had happiness a long time ago. That ending with him was crazy! I’m glad Sylvia was able to express her concerns to her husband. That’s a lot to deal with. It seems like there should be a part 3.

Too many loose end

There really wasn't an ending. The relationships could have been better developed. Cliffhangers are irritating. Is there a 3rd book? Sylvia is a strong character, but the author made her appear weak. Gary punked her and was allowed to continue his chauvinistic behavior. A normal woman would not forgive his infidelity. Im thinking the author rushed to reach a contractual deadline which led to poor writing in the final chapters. Maybe we will have closure in the 3rd book. I do not want to use my imagination.

Part three?

This book was good! I am not sure why the negative reviews but this was a good read. It did end with slight bang leaving an opening for a part 3. I loved the story it was not ratchet with plenty of twists and turns.

CLIFF HANGER

Trisha is a piece of work and the narrator did a horrible job of portraying the different characters. I almost wish I had the book instead of audio. I think I will look for book 3 on the kindle instead of Audible. Her voice was ok for Syl and Trisha but every else eeck!

Ooooh Chile!

First of all, I stumbled upon this, didn't realize it was the continuation of Mid Life Crisis, we need a better idea of the sequential order of these books. It was a great read, I just wish I knew the correct order

Confusing

This story would have been better with a different reader. And, I found the story difficult to follow in the beginning. If I could have gotten my credit back I wouldn’t have listened to the end.
