Publisher's Summary

Jewel climbed up the heap to become queen of the streets, diva of all divas. But now that she's expecting a baby, she's concerned about just one thing - giving her child a good life, away from the guns, the drugs, and the lies. However, that also means a life away from the glitz and glam that Jewel still craves, and she's not quite ready to give it all up...not until she's back on top.

Flat broke and miles away from her fugitive baby daddy, Jewel will have to put every bit of her street savvy, as well as her sharp business skills, into action to gain back her place and her power.

Absolutely Nothing New Happens

I am a newcomer to Chunichi's work, having been referred by a member of my book club. I started with California Connection 1, and it was really great. I quickly followed up with California Connection 2, and should have stopped right there. I swear, Part 3 was like watching paint dry. Nothing happened to advance the plot. This book was like watching someone's "Day In The Life" vlog on YouTube. There was no story, just some random events., 2 crazy stalkers, I was so drunk I slept with who??... I'm testifying against Touch, no I'm not, I hate you, I love you, and another shooting at the end. I feel that if the author has nothing new to add, just leave it alone. There were some strong characters developed in the first 2 books. Book 3 was just a waste of time. Audible will be running me back my coins for this one.

poor execution and a cliffhanger

throughout this book, i kept thinking "what am i missing?" jewel kept referring to all that touch put her thru. but, the reader was never privy to it. as a reader, you need to see it not just hear it. this story was poorly executed. and of course there's another cliffhanger.

Lisa

I was bored with jewel. Now crazy girlfriend Lisa had me cracking up. Especially when she was fighting the police and she was kicking like a donkey. I was cracking up. She is the only reason I gave the book five stars. If there is another book add that crazy Lisa. Love her character.

Please Please don't let Jewel or the baby be dead

AFTER ask Touch has done he's the one who needs to be dead with his cheating woman abusive ass lying cheating death every time... Although he's had his share of close to deaths knocking at his door 5 to 6 times. These so called gangsters can't shoot a gun worth a damn
