Publisher's Summary

The Red Bottom Bandits may be the world's most fashion-forward gang of masked outlaws. They're the talk of DC for their daring robberies and fly gear. And their latest caper is penned by Ashley Antoinette (of Ashley & JaQuavis) at her sultry, streetwise best.

When the innocent, naïve Gucci recognizes ringleader Sunny Raegan during a holdup, that's her "in" with the Bandits. Knowing she's got a lot more beauty than brains, Gucci sees the gang as her meal ticket. More likely, they'll be her ticket to the morgue!

The Bandits may be lawless, but they play by a few simple rules: Get in and get out, shoot first and ask questions later, never leave without the money, and innocent people don't get hurt. But it's only a matter of time before all these rules get broken - and that's when Gucci gets caught!

If there's one thing a girl needs, it's a little help from her friends. But her "friends" have skipped town without giving her a second thought. And Sunny is distracted by her new baby and her violent ex-lover. So Gucci's on her own. She's on trial for her life, and she must decide whether to snitch on the girls - or take the fall all by herself. Whichever she chooses, it may be her death sentence.

ok

pros
another chance to experience new work
relationship between navid and reagan
display of loyalty, compassion (at the beginning of each girls relationship with each other
narrator iikane has a pleasant voice

cons
another dismal ending
another sequel to wait for as of my listening date its been 4 or 5 years I believe since this book was first published
narrator iikane's delivery style-stopping in mid sentence long enough for you to think the audio stopped

random
what was the reason behind naming the book after a small supportive player?
Can one of this author's characters have a decent ending? If they are not handicapped or killed, their lives are so miserable its unbelievable. Pain doesn't always make for good drama.

Gloom !

I'm just tired of the gloomy ending every time. I expected it but I still was surprised with the outcome. I still love this author though and her work.

The ending ruined it!

While this books had all of the makings for something really good, that ended ruined it all! And that super long first chapter also did the book a disservice. BUT, I really liked most of these characters (except for Reason ... Ugh!!) and although parts of the book were very reminiscent of Set It Off the movie- as others have indicated, it still kept me guessing and on my toes. iiKane is typically amazing but her narration this time was a bit off with all of the awkward pauses and then run on sentences. She is still one of my favorites though. All in all, I recommend it, with caution.

Good read

I didn’t like the end but awesome storyline! I wonder if there will be a second book. I want Regan to reunite with her son.

Good read but not her best work

The intro had nothing to do with the rest of the book and the ending was horrible and the narrator read too fast. Good story though
