Publisher's Summary
A man’s quest to escape his past life is an uphill battle. After seeking a Cuban voodoo doctor to receive a spiritual advantage on his upcoming court case, Saint opens up Pandora’s box. The Santeria voodoo seemed to work, but at what cost?
His dangerous visit to Cuba came with much more than he anticipated. He entered an underground secret society of high stakes gambling. He also gets tangled in a web of heinous crimes, money games, and backstabbing. He is torn between a woman he met in Cuba and his wife at home, which leads to an intricate plan which threatens his freedom and everything that he has worked hard for. Lines are crossed, both internationally and morally.
This well thought out, dark plot is an urban love story with an unforgettable conclusion. In this smartly woven novel, New York Times best-selling author JaQuavis Coleman weaves a classic tale. The author who is known for his unpredictable endings and abstract like writing, brings you a thrilling, suspenseful novel with high stakes. Love and war are all through this novel and he calls this book his “masterpiece.” Cubana is his eighth solo novel and his latest offering.

Love JaQuavis and Ashley but IDK about this one
This could have used a little more substance and a better ending. I love JaQuavis and Ashley separately as authors and together but this just wasn't it. I mention both because I would hope that they confide and advise one another.

Story Never Developed 😢
I am a true fan of this author and his wife. However, this was the worse book by far that he wrote. It was very boring and the story never developed. I’m just not sure what the book was about maybe a love story, but it was just boring. The narrator was terrible it should have been two one for male/female characters. There was no Cuban accent. Entire book was disappointing. I almost asked for my credit back, but won’t in an effort to support the author.

I wasnt expecting this AT ALL...
I know the books are a little grimy and underworld but have a great storyline.
I enjoyed this selection, it ebbed and flowed. I was startled by many different things in the book, treating humans like dogs, wow, that was weird! I will say you must be in the mindset to receive this book. It started slow for me until I could concentrate.
A drug dealer on a kingpin platform falls into the upper echelon situation with the opportunity to go somewhat legitimate. He also meets young-ins on his journey, with which he tends to have a bit of influence. The characters evolve. I won’t spoil the book with the review, so I will end here.
This author is a - “You can’t miss with one of his books, especially if you like his genre” Nevada Steele
I’m recommending.
