Publisher's Summary

Kristina Georgia Snow is the perfect daughter: gifted high-school junior, quiet, never any trouble. But on a trip to visit her absentee father, she meets a boy who introduces her to crank. At first she finds it freeing, but soon Kristina's personality disappears inside the drug. What began as a wild, ecstatic ride turns into a struggle through hell for her mind, her soul, and her life.
Listen to the sequel, Glass.

Critic Reviews

"Hopkins writes in free-verse poems that paint painfully sharp images...detailing how powerful the "monster" can be. The poems are masterpieces of word, shape, and pacing, compelling readers on to the next chapter in Kristina's spiraling world." ( School LIbrary Journal)

Good just not for kids

This duo was well written and eye opening. I listened to it because my 14 year old read "Crank." I do not think that these books are for that age group. I highly recommend that you listen to these books prior to allowing your kids read them. In my opinion these books are for older teens 17 and up. Nothing against these books as I said they are very good just a little too much info for kids under 17, especially "Glass."

Great book - not so great reader

Really disliked the reader of this book. Understand what they were going for. But when she used the voice to impersonate a man - it made me cringe.

The story wasn’t what I thought

I didn’t like the way the story was written. The way the characters talked wasn’t what I liked, I can’t listen to a book when the character refers to themselves in the third person.

it was so real, it was my story

I'm a recovering "crank" addict. the realness and the pictures painted put me right back there again. but not in a lustful way...in a way that allowed me to look at the horrible journey with clear eyes. beautiful deep dark words to make me think all over again. beautiful monologue. thank you

Hit close to home

I absolutely loved this book... because I can relate. I struggled with addiction just shy of 20 years. I have been clean for almost 3 now. Hopkins touched on what it does to your family. I couldn't stop listening. She did an amazing job portraying an addict and her family.

Crank

I love this book and all of Ellen Hopkins books. But the reader for this audio book makes it hard to listen to.
