Publisher's Summary

Feeding You Lies is an instant national best seller. This follow-up to New York Times best seller The Food Babe Way exposes the lies we've been told about our food - and takes listeners on a journey to find healthy options.

There's so much confusion about what to eat. Are you jumping from diet to diet and nothing seems to work? Are you sick of seeing contradictory health advice from experts? Just like the tobacco industry lied to us about the dangers of cigarettes, the same untruths, cover-ups, and deceptive practices are occurring in the food industry. Vani Hari, a.k.a. The Food Babe, blows the lid off the lies we've been fed about the food we eat - lies about its nutrient value, effects on our health, label information, and even the very science we base our food choices on. You'll discover:

  • How nutrition research is manipulated by food-company-funded experts
  • How to spot fake news generated by Big Food
  • The tricks food companies use to make their food addictive
  • Why labels like "all natural" and "non-GMO" aren't what they seem and how to identify the healthiest food
  • Food marketing hoaxes that persuade us into buying junk food disguised as health food

Vani guides you through a 48-hour Toxin Takedown to rid your pantry, and your body, of harmful chemicals - a quick and easy plan that anyone can do. A blueprint for living your life without preservatives, artificial sweeteners, additives, food dyes, or fillers, eating foods that truly nourish you and support your health, Feeding You Lies is the first step on a new path of truth in eating - and a journey to your best health ever.

Why taken off?!

Why was this audio book removed?!? It's a hugely important resource for healthy eating and it brings to light many ways we are being manipulated into eating, being, and staying unhealthy. Please return it to Audible!!!

Good content. Terrible narration.

I have the Audible version of this book. while the content is good, the narration is so bad that I barely made it through. The author narrates the book and it is as if she is seeing/reading it out loud for the very first time. It was very distracting. I wish I had just gotten a hard copy rather than the audio version.

Loved this Book!!

I only recently found out about Vani Hari and her food babe army through Dr. Mark Hyman‘s books. I quickly became a fan! Knowledge is power and I so appreciate her in-depth research so that I don’t have to do it. Just being real here. I feel inspired And empowered after reading the books and have been switching over to organic whenever I can, and really reading labels like I never have before. Mind you I’ve always been a label reader but there are a few ingredients that seemed innocuous and fairly innocent that I now realize are dangerous. Thank you Vani for your tireless work!!

Familiar Story

Sometimes the truth is uncomfortable. It can cause us to doubt everything we believed and force us to no longer live blissfully thinking someone else is looking out for our health. This book brings you to the painful, liberating reality of what’s really going on. You have to take responsibility for you and your family’s health, because “big food” and the FDA is not. “Big food” only considers your health in conjunction with their profit margin. The tactics used by “big food” to manipulate the public using social media, front groups and their own paid doctors and nutritionists is the EXACT same playbook used by “big pharma” (read “The Real Anthony Fauci”). These books help you become aware of what’s going on around you and give you the power to make more informed decisions. Kudos to Vani for remaining an independent voice!

informative

I've been following Vani on IG for over a year now and I really have been more conscientious when it comes to buying and consuming food. Vani's book brings to the surface the corruption of our food. Vani herself narrates the book which when reading other reviews people had issues with it falling flat but she narrates the book how one would regularly read. I think she toned down verbally her passion because she wants to let the reader know the facts and not distract from that.

Great Info, Horribly Presented

I was surprised to find out that the author read her own book. She sounded disconnected with the content but it made sense because her true anger came through. So much so, that I felt like I was being lectured by a “woke” millennial for hours on end. To the point that the inflection in her voice and delivery of the content started giving me anxiety. I just couldn’t relax and listen to this book!! And I’m on her side! I have little respect for Big food companies and pharma. I eat organic and get laughed at because I won’t come within 3 feet of a soda.
With that being said, the content is great. Aside from her constantly whining (or just sounded like it) about being singled out by big companies.....I appreciated the detailed information on what the food industry is really doing. She knows her stuff but she should have hired a narrator.

I was really excited to get this book

And then I listened to it. I generally love it when an author reads their own work. They tend to put the emotion into the reading that they put into the writing. If that is the case for this author, then she really didn’t have much emotion or feeling behind what she wrote. She reads it is if she is reading the content for the first time. By the time she gets to the part where she starts putting her name behind some products I had all but lost interest.
I believe in her cause. I believe we have been lied to at all levels in regards to what has been presented for decades as being acceptable nutrition.
That said, if you want to learn more I would suggest you purchase a hard copy of the book. The audio production might ruin it for you.
