Fantastic book into one of the coolest characters in the 40K universe

Really enjoyed this book. Have a hard copy but being able to listen to it was a nice change of pace. Was done really well. Enjoyed hearing the various characters come to life and really enjoyed hearing some of the thoughts and background of the various characters as well. Well worth reading it listening to.

Pater Mutatus

Fabius is one of my favorite characters in all of Warhammer 40K. His interactions with his former brothers and other factions are so interesting to watch unfold. Especially when discussing the nature of his work and its end goal.

Terrific continuation of the Bile series

Great sequel to Primogenitor arguably better than the original. A much more insightful look into the Emperor's Children

This one waa better then the first!

I enjoyed this one more then the first, It had a end that is satisfying in a sad way that keeps u on edge. The Voice acting is always spot on, u don't get lost in who is who.

Heart wrenching

The voice acting was on point for each of the characters building a strong emotional attachment, Bile is shown even more so as terminally frustersted, and the ending was wretched. A fantastic read

Stories like these are what made me love Chaos

Fabius Bile is one of the more interesting characters in the 40k universe. The previous book, Primogenitor was extremely good as well but this novel helps establish what his end goals for his work to shape the future of the galaxy. His struggle with decisions based on emotion vs. logic and results from them that could alter the course of his work, as well as the remainder of his legion make him a very interesting character to follow.

The ending left me with a sense of longing to know how the events that occurred will change the course of the Warhammer 40k universe, given what has happened since after the Gathering Storm. It also makes me wonder if Bile will come to later regret his decision more in the next novel.

As I said before I really enjoyed Josh Reynolds previous Fabius Bile novel and after completing this one I may need to check out some of his other works, Black Library or otherwise, while waiting for a sequel to Clonelord. Last but not least, Johnathan Banks is one of my favorite Black Library narrators, alongside others like Jonathan Keeble, that make stories like these interesting until the very end with their impressive vocal range commitment to distinguishing characters and further developing their personalities.

I cannot wait for the next book in the Fabius Bile series, should it continue.

Fabius Bile is OP

Primogenitor, Clonelord, and Pater Mutatis.

Only Fabius Bile approaches the emperor with his knowledge of the sciences and the true nature of humanity. Undying, he guides his gene hounds-- his new men into the future.

Like the Phoenix, mankind will be reborn from fire and Fabius Bile will work until all his work is finished.

Beware Dan Abnett - A Challenger Approaches!

Grew up only really liking Imperial Guard Lore because of Dan Abnett’s writing, wasn’t a fan of any stories about Xenos or Heretic scum.

But this writing of Fabius is just... ugh, idk how else to put it - but he’s so perfect in how flawed he is. He’s such a loveable mad scientist. Josh Reynolds wrote a great book, and JOHN BANKS DOES AN AMAZING JOB witn his voices - just so fucking easy to relisten to these books over and over again, and I want more please!
