Publisher's summary

An ancient enemy rises from the seas....

Brax and Carmen are exploring the ocean when they come across the dead body of a dragon on an island. He was an outcast, living far away from Drachia, and he was only recently killed. It turns out that the old enemy - one that the dragons believed were all destroyed - have returned. And they want revenge, one dead dragon at a time.

The only way to defeat the mightiest of giants is to face him on his home turf. It is a land like nothing Carmen has ever seen. On a royal mission, Carmen travels to the land of giants, a fabled country that no mortal has visited for thousands of years...and lived to tell the tale. It will be a challenge unlike any other. It's a good thing she has Thord on her side and one more ally she never dreamed she'd see again.

Includes the next two episodes in the Dragon Assassin series: Old Enemies and Downfall.

Great Series

Love the storyline. Great action sequences. The story moves at a nice pace and the verbal banter is often quite fun. I have only read thru book 10, but I am starting book 11 now. The author keeps the story interesting and builds complex worlds and character relationships.

I really like this series and narrator

I really liked this series and the narrator! The narrator was amazing, when there was singing parts and she literally sung them, it sounded great and gave me cold chills with the story lol
I hope the next one comes out soon bc I know there is another in the series!

PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS MORE

I listened to all 4 volumes back to back over a week's time. I love these stories. I love the world Arthur Slade built. As for the main characters.... Carmen is.... well Carmen is easily the dumbest assassin I have ever met (in a literary world). She makes stupid choices, does things that defy logic for someone raised to be ruthless, and she sets herself up for a lot of the terrible situations that she finds herself in. But it is also what makes her relatable. She isn't perfect and she knows it. She isn't ruthless. She has a good heart, and rebels against the role that life shoved her into and makes her own way. And the evolution of her relationship with Brax is amazing. Also, I live for Brax's snarky comments and mean retorts. My only comment that is remotely negative is this....
SPOILER....

Ok I warned you. The whole Zarek being muktiple giants and yet they were "one" thing was a bit confusing for a few minutes, mostly because it came out of nowhere, but after I got myself sorted, it was fine.

So please tell me there will be more to their story! I know supposedly this is the end but supposedly they said that at the end of book 8 (volume 3).... so I am hoping this is a lie! Because this 42 yr old lady needs more!
