Instead of spending her days eating scones with jam and cream and selling books by the sea, she’s now got to work with her grandmother to find the killer and clear her own name. Sounds simple, right? Armed with nothing more than her wits and snarky attitude, Mack is about to find out that the charming coastal town has a secret dark side. And the aggravating private investigator with the sexy smile she keeps running into has something to hide, but what?

As she gets closer to finding the killer, Mack realizes she’s next on the hit list. Will she get to the bottom of this case before she finds herself at the bottom of the sea?

A Struggle to read

Ended up skipping to the end. Just couldn't hold my interest.
The characters were not interesting.

Cozy in England

Loved the mix of American and British accents. The story was good but would have been great with more description of the scenery. Overall worth the buy is you love cozy mysteries.

Good but not as good as

Not as good as the Hibiscus Homicide series. I’ve listened to that whole series and look forward to the next one coming out

Good potential thin plot

Interesting set up and setting w great appeal but thin plot. Characters need depth and plot needs more links and clues.

Mediocre…tries too hard…

then throws in bad language (end of story) to do?not sure what, ?add tension? Keep looking for a better written and performed cozy. The reader was ok…but British accents were painful at times and/or actually Australian.

Fun and games

We’d listen to any book narrated by Brittney Pressley. She’s that good. But Jasmine Webb weaves a fun mystery in a place we’d love to visit, do even better.

Looking Forward to Book 2

Cornwall

I almost bailed out initially, disliking the brashness of the protagonist and the conventional bad girl language. The storyline eventually pulled me in along with the descriptions of Cornwall. I enjoyed it and would listen to a sequel.

Fun Book

This is a fun book and I can not wait to see where it takes me next.

Laughing through this one

I LOVED this book. The female main character is hysterical, bubbly, and fun to listen to as she works through this murder mystery. I will be listening to the rest of this series. I need to hear more. Also, Brittany Pressley is ABSOLUTELY one of my favorite narrators. 10/10 with all her characters.

Enjoyed this book!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed the flow and plot.
