In this fast-paced and deliciously witty spy romcom, a single mom finds herself wrapped up in unexpected adventure when she is recruited to pose as a secret agent, perfect for fans of Finlay Donovan Is Killing It.

Recently divorced Gabby Greene spends most of her days listening to self-help books while wrangling her loving yet erratic kids. During a decade of marriage, Gabby shoved aside her own career and ambitions to make room for mountains of laundry, running errands, and investigating the case of the missing socks. Her number one suspect: their Bichon Frise, Mr. Bubbles.

All that changes when a secret government agency comes knocking on Gabby's door, asking her to go undercover. At first, she thinks some reality show is pranking her, but apparently, she bears a striking resemblance to an agent recently murdered, and… well, desperate missions call for desperate measures. Soon Gabby is juggling motherhood and a crash course in Spying 101, led by a handsome James Bond-type who has secrets of his own.

As Gabby embarks on a dangerous mission involving money laundering, a Russian oligarch, and an unfortunate incident with a prosthetic nose, she begins to realize that she is far from the invisible housewife she once believed herself to be, and that maybe, just maybe, she might be capable of saving the day.

Critic reviews

“Gabby Greene is to spying what Finlay Donovan is to contract killing and Stephanie Plum is to bounty hunting. You’ll be laughing on one page, and your heart will be beating on the next.”

This is a fun and fast-paced read! And amid all the action and funny situations, Tschida delivers
empowering reminders like valuing oneself and that being a good parent or partner does not mean being a doormat. I related to and rooted for Gabby, and I loved the friendship relationship with Justin.

Fun, fast-paced, and uplifting!

This was such an amazing audio book! I laughed out loud many times. I think everyone needs a comedic spy novel in their life with the main character being a divorced Mom. Please bring more Gabby into our lives!!!! The narrator was also amazing. Brought the story to life.

Hilarious and relatable!!

This was a lot of fun. It’s got quirky, relatable characters, an easy to follow plot, and TV level violence. There’s no sex, however there are occasional F bombs and some sex jokes, so this doesn’t quite qualify in the cozy genre.

There’s a feminist undercurrent that mostly delivers a comedic edge but sometimes feels like the author’s hating on men. The amount of time spent on single mama drama (the PTA, sexist boss, neighborhood watch, kid with food allergies, loser ex, pudgy waist, …) wore on me. Overall, however, I enjoyed this and would tune in for a book 2.

A not quite cozy spy-mom rom-com

The story was super fun to listen to, I was sad when it came to an end. I really hope that this turns into a series and there's more books to come!

Such a fun read!

Humor and adventure. Relatable and not super cheesy. If you like the Finley Donovan series, you’ll love this! Can’t wait to read more tales of Gabby Greene!

Great!
