Publisher's summary

The first three mysteries in the USA Today best-selling Franki Amato series: Limoncello Yellow, Prosecco Pink, and Amaretto Amber

When Franki Amato leaves her cheating ex and erratic job as a rookie cop in Austin, Texas, she hopes for a quieter existence at her best friend Veronica’s New Orleans PI firm, Private Chicks. But life in The Big Easy is anything but quiet. Or easy.

Her furnished apartment resembles an old French brothel, and her aging ex-stripper landlady has some rather odd policies. Meanwhile, Franki is hired to investigate a series of bizarre murders in a luxury boutique, a haunted plantation, and a Bourbon Street strip club, and her work puts her in contact with colorful local characters, like voodoo mambos, drag queens, and wealthy socialites, not to mention killers. While she’s on the case, her meddlesome Sicilian nonna tries to crack an ongoing mystery - how to get her married, and pronto - and she might just be Franki’s biggest nemesis.

Three times the fun!

I really enjoyed this set of Franki Amato mysteries. The characters are a lot of fun and so is the New Orleans setting. The narration is great and Franki is super relatable. She's sassy, smart, and funny. Sadly, she sings like a dying dog, but we all have our flaws.

Entertaining, fun,& easy

I liked this boxed set. Low commitment, good entertainment for car rides and long walks to get out of the house. I enjoyed some fun thrown in with voodoo and witches to keep it fun, light and easy. I like the main character but some of the family dynamics started to annoy me on book 2, but I think you’re supposed to be annoyed by them!?!

He’s just not that into you

If Frankie would just drop Bradley and get on with her life these books would be so much better. I get that she feels pressured to be in a relationship with someone by her family, but one of the random guys her family tries to set her up with would probably at least be more interested in her than he is. Quit whining about a guy who clearly is not all that interested in being with you, and your detective skills will most likely be better when you only chase the criminal instead of also chasing your boyfriend.

Enjoyable but....

Story is entertaining enough, but clunky misuse of basic grammar is irritating. Drink, drank drunk; sink sank sunk; sing, sang, sung etc. author needs a basic lesson in simple past tense. She drunk, she sunk, she sung ? How about she drank, she sank and she sang...author and editor need to review 7th grade grammar. Or just google past tense.

Fun stories and excellent narrator

I love the stories and the narrator. However, the main character is so annoying I’ve skipped multiple chapters. She’s self centered, whiny, insecure and a total idiot. Ugh. I cannot stand her. I wish she would grow a backbone and some self respect instead of being such a pain in the butt. She does the stupidest things and then I’d surprised when they blow up in her face? Gah!!!! Seriously, I’m on the 2nd book and still can’t get past her personality! It’s not getting any better.

That Franki Amato is irresistible!

This series is a perfect mix of humor, cultural and religious education, and sleuthing. The stories are a fast-paced, slapstick look at Nola’s wild society invaded by an Italian Catholic family who operates on the fringes-that area where logic gives up and the family craziness blazes through. This Crazytown is a lovely place to visit; you need to go there; you might even sign a lease.

Vapid Characters mixed with Colorful Characters

Strictly escape read only. Don't expect deep characters of any level that provokes thoughtful consideration. That being said, skip the first chapter of the first book and you will be golden for the crazy hijinks ahead. The first chapter is revolting concerning Frankie's ex-police partner. I almost gave up reading during the first chapter, her partner is that disgusting. However, I'm glad I trudged ahead and met all the other colorful, and sometimes annoying, characters in Frankie's new life in NOLA. Frankie, herself, will leave you scratching your head at times, but you will find yourself laughing out loud and sometimes guffawing. Other times you'll wonder why you're listening to the strange machinations of the character's thinking. If you're looking for a brainless escape to counteract the cares of this world, this box set is it.

Fun sassy mysteries

Frankie Amato Mysteries is a fun fast paced sassy read. I love how the author crosses the barrier and talks to the audience. I love the sarcastic wit of Glenda. The books are descriptive and entertaining a definite must read. The narrator Madeline Mrozek is perfect for this book she makes it fun to listen to. I received this review copy at my request and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review because I really enjoyed reading this book.
