Preadolescent story
I flow between adult and young adult novels frequently. I found this one because I like the authors writing style and many of her other stories. Unfortunately this one is just too juvenile. Think preteen audience.
The story is about the typical girl next door who is in love with the neighbor boy she grew up with. He is in love with the bitch cool girl group leader. Throw in a little death, magic and ghouls and you have this book.
The premise was cute but wow the story was ridiculous. Suspending disbelief is obviously necessary but this takes it way too far. I almost stopped the book several times but it was like watching a crash or train wreck. How do you look away?
Steer clear unless you are good with preteen, gushing makes no sense convolutions. This is a true dude.

YA zombie jacks up the prom
Any additional comments?
Really good narration, funny and very likable main character. The story is YA, so it's not too deep and you can't think too hard about it, fun none the less. Mean girl dies, comes back to jack up prom for the nerdy girl next door. Short and sweet.
