Publisher's summary

Coen Highsmith was a league star, but he lost more than his team the day the Pittsburgh Titans’ plane crashed. Can he be saved from his downward spiral of guilt and regret to become the man he once was?

I had it all—a successful hockey career, the respect and adoration of the fans, a rotation of beautiful women warming my bed, and a feeling of self-worth and contentment with the direction of my life. But that all changed the day the team plane went down, taking my only chance of redemption with it. Now I’m left with the daily reminder of all my failures and my inability to correct them.

My new teammates are tired of my attitude, and following my suspension, I hole up in a mountain cabin to get away from all of it. The isolation is exactly what I need to get out of my own head, and I’m beginning to think I could be content in this quiet forever.

Tillie Marshall isn’t the type of woman who would usually catch my attention, yet she manages to do so for all the wrong reasons. I’m here for the peace and seclusion, but the quirky artist is hell-bent on destroying that by cutting down the trees that separate our properties so she can open a pottery studio. If it’s a fight she wants, it’s a fight she’ll get. I have the money and the time and no issues bringing her down through the court system. While I see flashes of steely determination within her, I’ve found that being a jerk comes naturally these days and she won’t be hard to intimidate.

Unfortunately, that gorgeous and somewhat odd neighbor who has been causing me grief is creating another type of feeling within me. And once that spark is lit, Tillie displays a faith in me that for the first time since the crash I desperately want to believe. Now it’s time for me to step up and become the man—no, a better man than I once was.

Great addition to this unique series

I’ve loved each book. They are more emotional than I expect from a sports romance series, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each of the guys stories. Chen is a top player, but has unresolved guilt over things that he didn’t get to resolve with a teammate he lost in the crash. He leaves town and fully intends to leave the team for a secluded cabin. That is until he meets his feisty artistic neighbor who helps him move on from his issues.

What a Series!

I’ve loved every book in Bennett’s three hockey series starting with The Arizona Vengeance, The Cold Fury, and now The Pittsburgh Titans…and Coen is clearly among my favs of them all! The warm and feisty Tillie really grounded Coen as he struggled to deal with survivor’s guilt and personal demons following the loss of his hockey family to the horrific plane crash. For a truly immersive experience, I’d suggest you read all of Bennett’s hockey series in order. They’re interconnected and weave a beautiful tapestry of lives and loves in Bennett’s hockey universe.

Aaron Shedlock is one of my all time favorite male vocal performers…he and Lucy Rivers truly brought Coen and Tillie to life. I highly recommend Coen!

Another great book!💜

Okay so now I think this one is my favorite in this series. I can have more than one right? Of course I can it’s my review 😂.
Anyway, Coen’s story just breaks my heart, until it doesn’t. The rivalry and banter between them is so much fun. And obviously the sex is on fire 🔥. I really enjoy Sawyer Bennett’s work because she’s always connecting prior books and leaving Easter eggs for future books. In addition, she’s an absolute genius for recapping her stories so that no matter which book in the series you’re on, you won’t feel lost.
Can I just say that in this entire series her narrator choices have been spot on. Aaron Shedlock absolutely nailed Coen. Lucy Rivers was outstanding. Well done everyone 👏👏👏.
This is book 4 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend this book/series.

Full circle of emotions

Coen and Tilly have an amazing story that pulled on all my feels. All that Coen is going through and processing being a survivor with baggage. He is a perfect broody grump whose heart grows two sizes. Tilly is an artist trying to fulfill her dreams with the broody grump standing in her way. The author did an such a fantastic job in this story I am kind of speechless

I could listen to the narrators for hours on end while they do the most perfect job bringing these characters to life. Their voices had me right there in the story with the characters

Not a fan of male voice.

Great story per usual S Bowen. It was uncomfortable listening to the male voice, but I finished the book. Female voice was lovely (5⭐️),

A shot right to the heart!!

I was so excited for Coen’s story. I’ve been eager to read Coen’s book since we first met him. We’ve been teased with little snippets of him since the very first book in the series. Now, at book 4, we finally get Coen’s complete story. Coen is still reeling from the deaths of most of his teammates. He’s suffering from severe survivor’s guilt. Coen’s buys this cabin in the woods in Pennsylvania, off of one of his teammates and proceeds to hide out from everyone and everything. In walks Tillie, or really, she squats, and upends Coen’s peaceful, lonely life. These two seem to be fire and ice, oil and water… these two don’t seem to mix. As time goes by though, sparks begin to fly and these two start to lean on each other.

Coen starts just like I’d expect him too… he’s cold and kind of a jerk. Tillie is strong and capable. She has plans and isn’t about to be set off course by some jerk. Tillie finds there’s more to Coen as the time goes by and she finds herself liking what she’s seeing in him. This was a real heart-warming story about people finding their way after tragedy. The narration by Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers was amazing. I really enjoyed these two together. Shedlock can play a down on his luck, melancholy like no other. Rivers gives Tillie that fire and spice that I really liked about her. I couldn’t get enough of these narrators, let alone the story.

I loved it!

This is the fourth book in the Pittsburgh Titans Series, a spin-off of the Arizona Vengeance series, a Sports Romance. This series is amazing! I loved Coen and Tillie's story. Coen is tortured by a survivor guilt. He is very handsome, and grumpy. Tillie is beautiful, kind, strong, determined, and supportive. They complement each other. I liked their banter. The storyline is emotional, and beautifully written. This is a great enemies to lovers romance. Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Drake, the next book in the series. I highly recommend this series.

Great read

I enjoyed this book. The love hate relationship between Coen and Tillie was entertaining. She was his match and kept him on his toes challenging him at every turn. Tillie was fierce never backing down - a strong independent woman is a joy to read about. Coen was soft and gooey once all his angry bravado was gone. Tillie helped Coen face his demons when no one else could, again a strong female leading a broken man made for a change in these books but I totally loved it. I listened to this book versus reading it and I totally enjoyed it, the narration only added to bringing the book to life.

The ultimate grumpy bad boy of hockey finally gets his story

Hands down my most favourite book in the series, which is odd because Coen is the one player that I’ve liked the least throughout this series. Then, hey presto, he’s my new favourite book boyfriend. Add in the fact that it’s enemies to lovers, along with the whole hockey thing, and of course Sawyer Bennett wrote it, so realistically it was always going to be a win for me. Coen Highsmith is the ultimate grumpy bad boy of hockey, playing like he’s got nothing to lose, which of course he thinks he hasn’t. Suspended from the game, and dead set on never returning to Pittsburg he hides away in a cabin in the woods, until that is his sweet lovely neighbour threatens his quiet solace. The story is happy, sad, emotional, funny, sexy, basically everything I love in a story. Great characters, Coen and Tillie were polar opposites, yet the chemistry between them was palpable, and they complemented each other perfectly. A great story that I truly did not want to end. I also listened to the audio version of this story, and it did not disappoint, if you’re an audio fan, I would highly recommend. Two fantastic narrators, Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers really did the story justice, They were the perfect Coen and Tillie. If I could give it more than five stars I would.

I have to say I think this one my be my least favorite in the series. Yes this did have some enemies to lovers vibes, but I couldn't connect with Tillie and Coen because they jumped a bit too fast. It was okay. Coen is being secluded in a Cabin and meets his neighbor Tillie who shares property line and wants to cut trees down to build a studio and Coen's not having it. I was expecting something different. I look forward to Drakes story.

Narrators Lucy Rivers and Aaron Shedlock did an amazing job.

Love Coen!!

Sawyer Bennett pulls me into this amazing enemies to lovers romance. I am so happy to get the broody hockey player's story! Coen is hard to get a handle on. He loves the game, but just can't be on the Titans anymore. The suspension he is on may just be what he needs to start over and leave the game. Moving to the woods, away from people to wallow in self pity is where it's at. Tillie is excited to start her new plans. Moving in next to Coen shouldn't be a problem, until the grumpy man decides to put a halt to her up and coming construction. Now at odds, these two have come to a standstill that only the courts can decide. But all this animosity is driving them both insane. How to get rid of it? Well, that remains to be seen. And with that our story begins. Coen is such a sad soul, easy to understand and become frustrated with. But he does show his true colors when it comes to Tillie. Tillie sees something in Coen and is determined to make him see it too. Will these two ever come to an understanding? Sparks are flying, tempers rising and passion igniting. It's a fabulous addition to the series.

Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers. Enough said. These are two of my all time favorite narrators and I am so happy to hear them together. Shedlock pulls off the cranky, broody athlete with ease, letting him get under our skin and into our hearts. Rivers adds the sunshine with Tillie, though we can feel her frustration and anger, she too lets us feel all the love. It's a fantastic pairing for this audio and it should not be missed!

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧Riveting & Heartfelt!

Sawyer Bennett pens another amazing Pittsburgh Titans novel, and I absolutely loved it. Not only did it grab and captivate my attention, but it pulled on my heartstrings the entire book. I have been looking forward to Coen Highsmith’s story, a troubled man who has been acting out since his team perished in that plane crash on that tragic day. He wishes he was with his team that day and suffers from guilt and it is not only survivors’ guilt that is eating at him. He gets suspended from the team after getting himself in trouble with the law, and he is ready to quit the team and give it all up. Needing to get away from it all, he goes to Stone’s mountain cabin. He loves the secluded place so much he buys it from him. Coen is enjoying the peace of the place and thinks it is helping him get out of his head, but then someone comes and wants to change things up and ruin it all. Tillie Marshall bought the house and property with intentions of building an art studio on the far end of the property, she checked to make sure she could before she closed on it, she also checked to make sure she could make a driveway on the easement with the neighboring property. She was not expecting the owner of that property to be such a jerk and to give her a hard time. But Tillie can give as good as she gets, and she does just that, and what she did was hilarious, though Coen did not agree and threatened his own retaliation. Wow, the back and forth between these two was like foreplay, a kiss here and there to shut the other up, yep, definitely foreplay. The chemistry between these two was sizzling hot and explosive. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a wonderfully written and plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, some witty dialogue and humorous scenes to lighten up the more serious topics and a smoking hot romance. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Sawyer Bennett cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that suited their character’s persona, sounding believable and just as I pictured them to sound. Lucy Rivers nailed it as Tillie, grasped every side of her personality, and Aaron Shedlock did the same for Coen, troubled with a chip on his shoulder. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions, projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced an already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.
