After the events in book 1, Lark becomes a full fledged Ender. As her first solo mission she is sent to the deep to accompany her sister, Belladonna. True to Lark’s nature things don’t go exactly according to plan. This book is full of secrets, corruption, danger and intrigue. Much like the first book this one was extremely hard to put down and completely blew me away. I can’t wait to start the next book.

Whoa… so much to unpack…

This book gave me some serious whiplash and also some laugh out loud moments. Larks journey seems to just get deeper and deeper in 💩… Making enemies and allies and some aren’t who you think. Lots of action and story crammed into to this one. Loving this series.

Nicely written and read

I like how this, like the one before, were neatly closed up. There are still questions and obvious threads moving forward, but there’s enough answered by the end to not feel like it’s unfinished or a cliffhanger. The narrator does a decent job at keeping voices straight as well.

Another GREAT book!

I have to confess, I am becoming addicted to this series. The narration is great and the story line excites me. I am extremely looking forward to listening to the next book, I must know what happens!

Loved the first two books in the series BUT not having the final 5 available on audible OR audiobook leaves me hanging and VERY DISAPPOINTED!

i started recurve 4 days ago, and ive already finished two books (being sick has its perks) i plan on finishing the series within the next few weeks!

I love this series but am struggling w/the names

I love this series however am struggling with the names, as some of them have a name, but are called something else and then the elementals, there are all different kinds which is also confusing to me, I wish there was some kind of dictionary type thing like you do in a book to look them up and pictures would be cool too.

I am on Audible due to health issues and have never listened to books like this but wanted something different other than other peoples bios, so maybe they are a bit out of my league imagination wise.

I did do well with the Venom and Vanilla series, but this elemental stuff is kind of making me crazy trying to figure it out. The narrator is awesome though! Best so far, she can do all kinds of voices where the narrator on Venom and Vanilla sounded alike a lot while trying to do different voices. All in all this Author is incredible and what an imagination she has to write like this.

I would love to sit down with her sometime (phone or otherwise) and have her explain it all to me, that would be make my day! I spend 63 and spend a lot of time in bed so it gets pretty lonely and boring, these audible books keep me going!

I bet the younger people get it no problem, it's us older generation that didn't have this kind of reading in our day!!! Maybe?!?!?

Shannon Mayer expands the world of the Elemental's as we are taken into the kingdom of the Deep. Mayer paints a world of water, betrayal, romance, and bravery as Larkspur is tasked with protecting the Ambassador, her sister Belladonna, on a mission from her father, the King. This book does not fail to deliver on action, adventure, drama and even a little romance. I can't wait to read the next!

This is the second book in the series and I need more! Once again I was really pleased with the story, narration and everything in between. Can I be Larks friend?
