Publisher's summary

In story format, US Marine Corps veteran and yoga teacher Rishi Eric Infanti outlines the parallel of his marine corps experiences and his journey as a yoga teacher. He threads the eight limbs of yoga from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and his seven-week exposition to Mysore, India, to deepen his understanding and practice of yoga, Ayurveda, and fine art as vehicles for healing.

Whether you're an experienced yoga teacher, new to the yoga lifestyle, or a veteran looking for ways to unravel the trauma of your own experiences, Marine on the Mat will inspire and guide you on your journey.

In this book you will learn:

  • How to integrate the eight limbs of yoga into your life
  • How to see the eight limbs as a daily practice
  • How to support our veterans with the healing system of yoga
  • How to inspire your own journey toward optimal health
  • How not to be stuck by your circumstances

"Here is the blueprint of the benefits of yoga to all of humanity, especially to support our military and veterans, in hope to bring peace into their lives, as it has brought into mine."

Marine on the Mat is written primarily for all yoga studios, the passionate professional yoga teacher and aspiring new yoga teacher, and yoga practitioners and enthusiasts. It is also written for our military, veterans, and their families that support them.

Insightful

As an instructor trained in trauma sensitive yoga teaching veterans through the connected Warriors yoga for veterans system, I found this book to be both informative and insightful as is his life's journey. the narrator moved a little bit slow, although I imagine this was due to his accent and the desire to make sure everything was well understood.
