Principle based but very approachable
The running part of this book was not as extensive as the meditation part but that was okay for me. The author avoided cookie cutter approach and went into the principles of what meditation is and how it combines with running and really any active sport. When we are running we are just tiring the mind out so we can control it but that does not give us true control. I would recommend this book to runners that are more about understanding their mind rather than those looking for a recipe type approach

Started running without music
I’ve been running for years. Last year I got really sick just before my first half marathon that I had trained hard for. I missed the race and completely lost the motivation to pick up running again. This book helped me to find the motivation to run and to start running without music (something that for me before was unthinkable) and instead focusing on your breath, your body position and allowing your senses to come through. Seeing what you see, hearing what you hear and smelling what you smell.
Definitely recommend this if you are curious about a new approach to running.

I Actually Ran While Listening To The Book
Sakyong's story is quite amazing, and Neil's narration work really well, especially for running. It felt like he was running along beside me describing his lifelong practice of running.
I highly recommend this book, especially if you love running and all things running.

Not a Runner Yet. Loved it Anyway
Where does Running with the Mind of Meditation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This audio book ranks high among the audiobooks I have listened to so far. I listened to Running with the Mind of Meditation 3 times as I wanted to fully grasp the concepts.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Running with the Mind of Meditation?
Memorable moments in the book? I cannot recall just one; however, the overall ideas stuck with me for months. The concepts and theories of the power and importance of meditation, running (or exercise); and mindfulness all are with me now in a way I can no longer forget.
Any additional comments?
I am not much of a runner yet this book did encourage me regarding exercise and meditation.

helped me tie my running and meditation practices
I run and I meditate. I am not a Buddhist. However this book was a delight to listen to. I especially loved the narrator's voice, and I think the author choice to use Neil Hellegers was perfect. I truly felt that Neil was the author, and it therefore made the message of the book so much more authentic.
I haven't consciously applied the Tibetan principles that the author recommends to either my running or my meditation practice. However as I reflect on both my running and my meditation practice for the purpose of writing this review - I think some of them have filtered in unconsciously.
I had to listen to the book twice, because there is a lot covered, and I needed a second pass to help me understand it.
A great book for runners or meditators, or people who do both.
