“No one does suspense better.” —Stephen King

Cyrus Haven and Evie Cormac return in this “razor-sharp and emotionally charged” (Lisa Gardner) psychological thriller, which finally unlocks the secrets of Evie’s past.

The mystery of Evie Cormac’s background has followed her into adulthood. As a child, she was discovered hiding in a secret room where a man had been tortured to death. Many of her captors and abusers escaped justice, unseen but not forgotten. Now, on a hot summer’s day, the past drags Evie back as she watches the bodies of seventeen migrants wash up on a Lincolnshire beach.

There is only one survivor, a teenage boy, who tells police their small boat was deliberately rammed and sunk. Psychologist Cyrus Haven is recruited by the police to investigate the murders—but he recognizes immediately that Evie has some link to the tragedy. By solving this crime, he could finally unlock the secrets of her past. But what dark forces will he set loose? And who will pay the price?

“Well paced with a slow tension building to a gripping climax [and] a very pleasing ending, Storm Child is a terrific addition to the series. Although this could be enjoyed as a stand-alone” (Mystery and Suspense Magazine).

I started this series from Book one and couldn't put the entire series down until I finished it. I became an instant fan of Michael Robotham!

The story and the writing

Evie shows her maturity in this book, and Cyrus recognizes that he still needs to heal from the loss of his family. I loved it, The writing is on point and the narrator is one of my favorites to listen to. ❤️❤️

I love Cyrus and Evie

I’m so glad I found this series. I love British crime procedurals but have been in a bit of a rut lately. I’m going to check out other titles by this author

Loved loved loved - This is book 4 and I have read/listened to all 4 books within 2 weeks - can’t wait for the next book! This was a great story that answered some questions about Evie’s past ! Keep up the great work-

Outstanding

I absolutely love this series. This particular story didn't hit as hard for me as the previous ones, though. I found myself becoming confused with all of the characters. I had to return to many chapters in the middle to understand who some of the characters were and how they were involved.

I found a few parts to drag on and not have much point.

I gave the overall a 4 because, while I was not as pulled to the story as much, it still was a great listen. I think I am a bit critical because I found no flaws in the previous books leading up to this one.

Good, but not as great

I really love these characters. This was like reconnecting with some very messed up friends. Leaves me wanting another story with them.

Great sequel
