Good

The book was genuinely good, the pacing was incredible, and the storyline kept me fully engaged throughout. It never dragged, and every chapter felt purposeful. I’m already looking forward to the next one.

If you liked the first 4, why not 5?

If you came this far reading about a human-eating god-tree and its crazed followers, why stop now? And if you haven't read the first 4, why the heck would you start reading this one?

Honestly amazing

One of my favorite books . Up there with beware of Chicken and primal hunter. Consistently great from beginning to end

Seems like a neverending story (derogatory)

Stella PoVs are still rough reads. Easily the weakest part of the series, she's an incompetent chaotic evil Mary Sue plot hook designed to get Ashlock into trouble.

But now we added Morgan, whose whole story doesn't make sense. Her power doesn't make sense. Her Origin doesn't make sense. Real "I wanted to make a characters mom super important at the last minute" energy.

Also, can we stop using "rose-gold" as "pink." It's needlessly obtuse and doesn't work well in describing color.. Nobody looks at pink hair and goes "oh, that's a lovely rose-gold."

If your biggest complaint last book was how Stella brought Ashlock into a conflict by being braindead. Yeah, that's still going on.

My biggest complaint is the story's goal is to reach the heavens, the proverbial top layer of creation.

We're five books in and we're still at the bottom. Haven't even concluder the Blood Lotus Sect story beat. This seems more and more like a check the author isn't going to cash, especially with starting new series.

So either this series is 500 books long, goes on hiatus or is cancelled, or at the 11th hour start speed running progression and the story falls apart.

I just don't see this series ending well (or at all). That's the problem with "long running series."
