Good Story Despite Shortcummings

This was a good story, despite thinking the MC has a completely punchable face. I don't know if the author intended this, or if they were just self aware enough to realize that the MC had very few redeeming qualities, but apparently all the other characters also disliked the MC.

Interesting story, Great magic system, but again hard to identify why exactly I finished this book, but I did and sadly I would likely listen to the next one.

Great Narration, Great and engaging magic system. I can even understand why the MC is so "punchable" due to his skill that makes him read like he has RBF...

Would not recommend for people that need to empathize with "pretty" or "consistently nice" MCs.

Great story…very un likable MC.

Overall loved the book. The MC spent 1/2 the time complaining. 1/4 of the being unnecessarily cruel. And the last 1/4 be being alright to some people. He’s still not enough to keep me from getting the next book. The story itself is good enough to move past the MC.

MC is a psycho. I love it.

it's a lot of fun. Great performance, too. He sounds like Hawkeye from MASH reading nerd sci-fi to you.

Interesting, original and well-structured

The story is captivating from the very first minutes. The characters are unique, each with a backstory that characterizes them. The protagonist is intelligent and realistic. What I appreciated most is that he prioritizes his own life in a situation beyond his control. He tries his best to survive and gather enough power to avoid becoming a pawn for others. The power system is well-structured and has a lot of potential. i highly reccomend this audible to those that like the lit-rpg genre.

A bit biased since I have been following it on RR as well but I loved listening to it after having read it. I hope the next one does not take too long to come up.

The story really hit it's stride on the 2nd floor

I agree with a lot of reviewers that the main character's personality is very annoying in the beginning. He alienated people who could have been true allies and he caused drama that was completely unnecessary. He could have avoided losing his arm if he would have been more cooperative with the group and had more allies around him beside Tess. You slowly get use to him ,especially in floor two when the whole paradigm changes, but he could have been written better in the beginning. I didn't like that he kept the fact that one of the group members could influence minds for as long as he did. I think a few more people would have lived if they knew she would use them as human shields against thier will. The magic system is great. I enjoyed the fights for the most part. I really liked the change of pace on floor 2. The difficulty of the floors truly fit the titles description. I'm really curious about how many floors exist and how the characters can possibly survive seeing how crazy the first two floors were.

fun kinda generic

a fun entery in the litrpg genre. nothing to unique love the dog biscuit is dope. narrator is solid no annoying voices

Real solid series begining

I listen to many LITRPG and this was one I did not expect much from this series and have been pleasantly surprised. I want more of this series. The only downside would be the ending did not feel hype as I would like. all said it was a great 1st book.

everything is pretty good. like others say, there is something wrong with the MC, I think it's a fresh take. No I don't find him relatable, but I like the fresh take on someone else's thought's. the issues for most is that the MC is either psychopathic, sociopathic or an extreme narcissist. narcism is about only caring about yourself above all others, which is what it seems like here. I don't have a problem with it, it's interesting to me and the story and system concepts are fun. at first I didn't think the narrator was good, but I thought it fits well with the MC and he does a pretty good job. overall I like it, worth a token, if you try it I think it's not as bad as others make it.
