Where others see doom, he sees opportunity. Hell Difficulty? More like a chance to thrive.

Nathaniel's bus ride was supposed to be just another boring commute. Wrong. Now, he, 23 fellow passengers, and a corgi named Biscuit, are stuck in a "Hell Difficulty" Tutorial, battling monsters and leveling up to survive.

Easy difficulty, anyone can handle. Normal difficulty, you've got to put up a fight to get by. Hard difficulty is where only the tough ones last. And Hell? That's where you have to be a bit out of your mind!

With his terrifying talent for mana manipulation, Nathaniel decides to invest every stat point into mana. Attribute imbalance be damned. It will either kill him before the monsters and his enemies can, or turn him into one of the most powerful beings within the system.

Never underestimate the guy who has so much Mana it should kill him...

Follow Nathaniel's crazy journey as he takes on nightmarish foes and teams up with a far-from-normal group of bus passengers in this action-packed LitRPG Adventure. He must outsmart the odds, survive, and emerge stronger than anyone else!

An interesting plot with a creative background. Has potential..I wanted to like it, and I kept hoping I would be able to enjoy it as the story progressed.. Unfortunately, imo the character development is very sluggish and the MC is just too dark and sociopathic. In the end I could only get through (2/3)'s of the book before I just got too sick of his whiny egocentric bullshit.

MC is insufferable and without any redeeming or mildly entertaining qualities.

I could not get past the MC who is so petty and immature. This is definitely not my cup of tea. I did not like the bad language also which was not necessary for the story.

A kid tyrant

MC is annoying asf conceded rude antisocial borderline psychopath

I still listened to the entire book hoping for some character growth, not sure if I'll pickup the second or not

Annoying

I liked this action-driven story, but didn't really care for the MC, as Nathaniel is a bit of an ass... and every time I'd think that he's not so bad and that I could actually connect with him he opens his smart mouth and I'm reminded again of how he really was an ass. Sure it's unfortunate that the people he's partied with aren't much better. But Nathaniel had no choice in the matter. The corgi is cute though and as the party powers up the corgi actually somehow powers up too.
I was actually reminded of the last book I finished, An Ideal World for a Sociopath by Oleg Sapphire and I gotta say that I found the MC in that book and Nathaniel were seemingly cut from a same cloth... except in Oleg's book I loved the MC. I believe the difference was that Varg actually tried to improve his people-skills, where Nathaniel only wanted revenge on those who angered him... but hey it's just an opinion. And if you like Hell Difficulty I'd suggest you give Oleg Sapphire books a try.
And like I said the story was good, and fun. Once dumped into Hell Difficulty Tutorial the party appeared to only be fighting goblins but soon the monsters were bigger and stronger, with the last monster on first floor being Cinder Bear and he's truly a terrifying beast! Yeah I'll prolly read the next book if only to find out how the corgi's doin and maybe the others as now they are the core party.

Here's a quote that amused me:

"It's a post apocalyptic buffet"

The books fun, and the corgi is cute!

to address this right off, the MC is a huge dick, however later through growth or was there something from before, he seems to get better. I'm glad I kept with it and can't wait to find out more future floor or what else will in store

Action pack hell of a ride.

The story is okay if you stick it out, but the main character is challenging to understand. The MC narration and thoughts do not match the character to the point that dialog is confusing as you can't follow what is in his head as to what he is doing. It is really bad for the first few chapters, but greatly improves by the halfway point. I don't regret listening, but won't continue if more books come out.

Poorly written Main Character

I found it nigh impossible to have any investment in the characters or plot. there was never any good reason to care about the progression/problem solving of the MC which to me is a deal breaker. did not finish

it's a fine title for most litrpg fans but

It was refreshing having an anti hero as the main character. I’ve gone through a ton of books similar to this and the main characters are generally all the same. Having someone that is essentially an asshole was a nice change.

Liked the story a lot. Looking forward to reading more on RR. But the narration honestly overshadowed it a bit. instead of a basically monotone recitation that many do, he actually puts inflection in his voice and tries to act the parts appropriately. A pleasure to listen to.

Story is great, narration is amazing

Good but wish it was longer. But not a bad first book in a series
