Outstanding Start to the Series

I binged this entire audiobook in a day on 1.0x speed. It was great! Daniel did a fantastic job narrating, he brought a ton of life to the characters I just couldn’t stop listening. The story has great pacing and keeps you hooked the whole time.

If you enjoy witty banter, great writing, and excellent narration, you will love this book. It was refreshing to have a 35 year old main character that had his life together and enjoyed his life get isekai’d. I will be on the look out for the next book! Highly recommend!

This is, pause, a great story!

Why is the narrator reading the pause? Fun funny and engaging story other than that.

Where is the mage tank in the story.

First of all, let me say the narrator was excellent. He can do men and women’s voices and he does women’s voices pretty well if I do say so, you can actually tell the genders apart. The MC is not the heart of the story. He’s just part of the story. In fact when facing the big bad, the MC doesn’t put in the killing blow. In fact, in my opinion in MC is weak and ineffectual. He needs other people in the party to do things for him, that’s why I say he’s not the heart of the story. He’s just part of the story. In my opinion, the MC should be the driver of the story the one that comes up with all the good ideas and the one who follows them through this character is not it. There’s plenty of humor and a lot of pop culture references, in fact, I think there are too many but that’s just my opinion like I’ve said before there’s a great cast of side characters which helps round out the book and fills in for the MC‘s shortcomings. Hopefully the MC will become more assertive and have more power progression in the second book. PS that’s the other thing that was not very much power progression for the MC in this book. If it’s supposed to be a slow burn book, then let us know that because I personally want to see the MC progress and powers and abilities. Will give the next book a chance and I then we’ll make my final determination.

Pretty Good

The “pause”s seem like they shouldn’t have been included. Plus the “final character” sheet never mentioned “we can do this all day.” Normally, I’d expect that this means it’s a choice that needs locked in, but there was no choice mentioned.
