If you grew up with an emotionally immature, unavailable, or selfish parent, you may have lingering feelings of anger, loneliness, betrayal, or abandonment.

This breakthrough audio course was created to help you revive your self-confidence and sense of self, value your own needs, and move forward in your life.

Your instructor, Lindsay C. Gibson, PsyD, has dedicated her professional life to helping adult children of emotionally immature parents (ACEIPs). She speaks to you from the heart with a warm, empathetic tone as she takes you on a journey of self-discovery and transformation.

You’ll start by learning how to recognize emotionally immature behavior in your parents and other people in your life.

Then you’ll explore 12 ways emotionally immature parenting can continue to impact your life along with steps to break the detrimental patterns you’ve learned.

Once you complete the course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Revive your self-confidence
  • Build resilience
  • Set boundaries
  • Build healthy relationships
  • Become who you were meant to be

Gibson’s approach includes evidence-based treatments and was created to meet the unique needs of ACEIPs by drawing on:

  • Emotionally focused individual therapy (EFIT)
  • Internal family systems (IFS)

This has been the most helpful book for me, the adult (48- I discovered this only at 45) child of two EIPs. I have been in therapy since 40. Multiple therapists. For the past three years, things have been difficult but learning to manage and have boundaries. My current therapist is great, but this book has been the most helpful practically. I can only take it in small doses like 15 or 30 minutes. I did one hour once. Because it feels like she was describing me exactly, my situation exactly my parents exactly. So sometimes it can be too difficult to listen, because then I have to process the information with time. It’s taking me a long time to get through the book, but I just completed it. And I would like to listen to it with my husband now. Highly recommend. So thankful for this woman’s work.

I love Dr. Gibsons content on emotionally immature parents. I’ve listened to many of her books, and have found them very helpful. If you haven’t listened to any of her content, don’t start with this one. This is actually just the audio of a video course. There were times where I felt like she wasn’t clear on who she was talking to or who her audience was.

Good contents, but not actually a book per se

I have found all books by this author extremely insightful to understanding myself. I would highly recommend this recording after first reading the author’s first book, “Adult children of emotionally immature parents.” This course is like a 5-hour conversation with the author who gives constructive advice on how to spot EI people/parent behaviors, and also how to build your self concept and move forward.

Extremely helpful follow-up
