Beers. Oktoberfest. The Apocalypse.

Leading astrophysicist Liam Jackson is participating in a scientist exchange program in Germany when a curveball of universal proportions is thrown at him. Planes fall from the sky, cars explode, and strange particles rain down from the heavens as monsters appear out of thin air.

The laws of physics have changed in the world. The fundamental forces of the universe are behaving differently, and Liam needs to understand them if he wants to survive.

Physics of the Apocalypse is a LitRPG series that combines the wonders of the cosmos with magic and science. Find out what base-building can look like in a medieval castle, how 3D printing can be used to create magic items, and how spacetime, nuclear, and quantum physics are combined with spellcasting.

Very slow and not engaging, but I didn't actually finish the book so maybe it got better. I think the concept could have been very cool to have explored but there was just something about the book that kept it from being engaging for me. I suspect it was just a lot of little things. It may have been possibly a translation issue that prevented me from being drawn in the way I like for a good story. The story just didn't pull me in.

Didn't make it all the way through book 1.

What started as interesting story about using science to figure out new worlds laws while simultaneously juggling basebuilding, became bug standard wizard adventure with small group.Science gets replaced by magic and logic takes a leap when magic gets involved to a point where science doesn't really matter as it's just magic with fancy name like "quark displacement".

Then there is problem with stats as it falls in the same hole all other stories go when introducing intelligence as the main stat for the MC. The problem is that author can only write the character as smart as the author himself is. So at some point intelligence doesn't increase actual characters intelligence but just raises spell damage and unlocks new spells.

At that point you also start to wonder why basic conclusions that anyone can come up with, are being portrayed as a result of MC being smart because of the raised stat. So you get into a situation where instead of raising MC intelligence, author dumbs down everyone else.

Interesting begging, but lost the spark and became Litrpg apocalypse 101

Can't express how much fun this read is. Seeing the various litRPG tropes explained in SciFi-level detail is an absolute delight. It's a much slower read than the usual LitRPG, but it pays off big time at the end. This book elevates the genre, and I'm glad to have read it.

Amazing read!

What a great party for the Apocloypse! A Quantim Physicist, an active duty Serviceman, a Pharmacist DJ and an Enforcer enter a bar... Smart Science based LITRPG makes for a great adventure! Well read and written. I'm off to book 2.

Loved it
